Bought some giant fat balls for the birds a couple of days ago.
I left one on the ground for the birds that dont like hanging on to feed.

Just seen a fox struggling along up the garden with one of them, its mouth was about as wide open as it can go.
Hope it doesn't dislocate its jaw.

Earlier this morning had a hedgehog come to feed for the first time this year, it's good that there was food out, through the winter been having a mouse eat the food.

We have had a hog visit in the last few days so we put some food out which it ate and left a calling card or sbs (small black sausage).

Avert your eyes if you don't like snakes, first Adder the year, it was too cold to come out fully this morning as at 11.30 it was only 6c, surprised to see it at all. adder 1.JPG

The town is definitely not going to like where this baby beaver and his clan are constructing their dam. :yikes:

He's very cute. Dare I ask where he's decided to make his home?

They have started a dam using the foundation of a small footbridge to dam a pond next to a road. Eventually, the water may reach the road level.

I would assume so, they just began the dam so the level is not rising yet.

Toad at my plot. Don't see many (any?) in gardens these days, but plenty at allotments.

Two large snapping turtles. When I was a child I made the mistake of poking my fishing pole at one of these monsters. The lesson I learned is that they are lighting fast and short-tempered. I also needed a new fishing pole. :yikes:

I always give them a wide berth, the first one I saw today made me think of Nessie.
