Thanks again for the info @Kandy. It's strange that you should mention walking dogs on Skye. Mr S and I were discussing having another dog yesterday after ten years without. The reason being that our last one was a complete nightmare and very destructive so he'd cured us of having another. It will have to wait until we're settled in our own place though and definitely after our visit to Skye. :)

I think John O'Groats has been developed for tourism and I understand Land's End has suffered similar treatment, but it's many years since I've been there.

Hi @Sheal Mr Kandy keeps harping on about having another dog but I am adamant that I don't want one because now we are just the two of us,we can now visit the stately homes and gardens as we are members of the NT and EH so don't have the worry of what to do in hot weather.:snorky:

Yes Lands End is now a theme park so attracts lots of tourists with their kids and the car parking charges on top must make it an expensive day out.

Enjoy Skye but if you get the chance try Mull as well, and you won't be disappointed:smile:

Looks like a species of Sea Roach, also known as a Sea Slater, to me, Sheal:dunno::snorky:

Poor bunny has myxi:sad:. Horrible, horrible manmade disease that causes great suffering - a perfect example of the destructive ingenuity of humans. Rat poison being another. The most kind thing you can do if you see a mxyi bun is to kill it or take it to a vet for euthanasia. I have 4 buns, all vaccinated against this vile disease and VHD 1 and 2.

The Frogs in the Wildlife pond are getting really noisy, sounding like two stroke motors, as it's that time of year!! If I sit on the bench by the pond I get that feeling of being watched.:hate-shocked:

                  Two for one.:snork:

it's shrieking and shaking something shocking. I have moved it too the back but all cats are out on the prowl waiting for it to move. Feel so bad.

Good news, bad news. We have a fair splodge of frogspawn in our small (corner bath) pond, a good show of plum blossom and my severe pruning of our apple trees hasn't killed them off.

But on the downside, the robin has deserted her four eggs. The male always seemed caring but the female was away at the drop of a feather. I'll stick the nest and eggs in a box and take it down the 'junior' school for their 'nature table.

                        Cheers, Tony.
