Think it through Sal - if she had a Lapageria it would only be fair for you to buy yourself one of these...................

I wish! They bloom in the spring on last years growth, so don't prune. I've got two now as my sister bought me one for my birthday.

Sal - Charlie replied to my post on another forum:-

There are two good sources for fresh seed http://www.chileflora.com Michael has started sending the Lapageria seed out still in its pods usually in our spring time.
and not sure how he is placed at the moment (last time I spoke he had a bit of a crop failure) but Mike Jeans at http://www.tomorrowsplants.com also produces some fresh seed mostly in our autumn time.
The trick with them is just patience, they are not too bad germination wise (usually about 4-6 weeks) but after that they are just plain slow!

He also showed his Lapageria flowering in its third year.

Longk , I travelled 3 hours to get the plants , for the simple reason that I wanted to know any secret about them , actually there is a secret about this plant .
I hope that they will produce seeds , I pollinate alle the flower and it seams that work , but not sure yet untill will have them , but finger cross If I manage to get fresh seeds you and anyone else will have seeds .... this plant it`s not easy unless you respect the few simple rules

unfortunatly the only way to get a plant it`s by seeds ...end of story .... no division , no cutting , no other way of propagation , that`s the main reason of the price and why the are so rare to get ...

I believe Charlie Pridham, http://www.roselandhouse.co.uk/ ,won't send them through the post because they won't travel.
