Rumours cause so much grief, no wonder you are concerned with all that going on

Its really horrible especially reading the comments on facebook from neighbours its scary the amount of hatred there is

I had a local councillor at the door on sunday they are trying to get to the bottom of whats going on they have been apparently told over and over again its not a mosque and wont be a mosque but feel like they are being lied to so are unsure of what is really going on

Its just a horrible vibe and feeling at the moment

Whats worse is there maybe an EDL march in solihull this saturday protesting against a 3rd appeal submission for a muslim cemetery in the borough which is also fuelling a lot of hatred

*sigh* makes me feel so sad

Whether it is or isn't, will or won't be a mosque is no excuse for that behaviour. I don't understand it either and I can't think how anyone can justify it. I'm so sorry that this is happening anywhere, but for you having it on your own doorstep means you can't be unaware of it.

I can't think of anything else to say.... there is simply no excuse and it is so hard to have to witness it.

Thank you @westwales its just good to know other people feel that behaviours is wrong too

Think its going to kick off some more as there is a new article in the birmingham mail saying they want to have friday prayers at the hub if the owners allow it.

Considering the reactions of people already i cant see that going down very well

:-( the worst bit is i need to be resting for a mumps injection on monday and i need to be as well as possible. But this is stressing me out and im not sleeping as well :-(

Altho me being naughty and being over active in the garden wont help my health either

Can you shut yourself away for a little while? Switch off the local radio & TV, ignore Facebook and make sure you're out of the vicinity on Saturday if there is a march. I know that's hard but equally you have a right to protect yourself and your own welbeing. Perhaps go and visit a local park or garden (you're there to do research and get ideas) and take a picnic on Saturday. At the moment the weather forecast is good and you will be rested for Monday. Good luck.

I wish i could but my family will be away and im totally housebound without them and im now not leaving my house till monday for the injection.

I do have workers coming to fix my garden path on saturday though so that will be a distraction.

Just going to have to try not to worry about it all i guess

It only takes one person to sow a bad seed into people heads, people seem to like believing rumors.
We had some one sowing bad rumours about us, next thing we had was some one trying to run us over :sad:

Back to back DVD box sets then? :noidea:
The seed has been planted in your head of trouble, stress, marches - and it is growing there. You need to weed it out and replant something more desirable in its place.
The fact is, what happens *outside* of your door, you have little or no control over. That's not to say it is none of your business, merely that there are limits on what you can do about it. Awareness (and preparedness) are good things, so, do have your phone charged (in case you need to call the emergency services); do have your phone numbers up-to-date on friends you could call if things do overwhelm you. Make sure you have enough food and drink in the house so you do not *need* to go out.
Then consider all the different seeds you can plant in your head on how to spend your time distracted from the outside world (don't visit Facebook!)

OMG Jiffy that is horrible. Im so sorry that happened to you. I really dont get cruel nasty vindictive people

Dont worry M. I have a lot of recorded TV to watch and my food delivery is this morning. it should be waiting for my in my porch when i get downstairs. Im a master at being all prepared for not ever leaving the house since i dont leave the house that often anyway :-)

My phone is charged every day out of habitit so never runs out and friend wise is hit and miss as a lot of them work weekends or its the only time they get to spend with their kids. more time my ex will pass through as per normal anyway so that will be a distraction.

I do have a lot of work to do for design by hook and my new drawing shop and loads to do in the garden and for the course im doing so its going to keep me busy. Plus monitoring the lads fixing the path and making sure they dont trample my alliums and tulips is going to certainly keep me distracted

It only seems to get to me in the evenings anyway. Just seen aparently the EDL are not marching they are just handing out leaflets to raise awareness so as long as there is no chanting I won't be able to hear them from solihull town centre. So not a worry really.

Don't forget that one way and another, your GC friends are all here too this weekend (or anytime) - we are fully conversant in many subjects, and major in gibberish and have a doctorate in utter nonsense -- we will chew the fat about anything here ;)

Seriously though, talking plants, hobbies, music, films, politics.... its all good, even more so if it keeps you mind off things
