Not good any chance you have pulled some of your chest or back muscles. I get palpitations from these getting too tight

I have also had tinnitus for four years now its one of my ME symptoms and its one of the ones i dont mind too much ur right that you learn to live with it.

@bigbore don't wait for Wednesday! :nonofinger: Phone your surgery and tell them that you're concerned that it may be a heart problem as you seem to be having palpitations. That should be dealt with as an emergency.

If there's any abnormality at all they should send you to A&E for a check up after they have taken your blood pressure and done an ECG at the surgery. The ECG only takes a minute or so.

If the doctor sends you down there they would then send you to their EAU.

"Emergency Assessment Units play an important role in the emergency admission of GP and speciality patients and then facilitates their safe discharge home or transfer to another department dependent on individual need."

If you have to go to the EAU they normally do a series of tests. These can take some time because they may want to do blood tests as well as their own ECG and blood pressure tests. The results from the blood test may take between 30 minutes to a couple of hours depending on how busy they are. They are likely to want to do at least two blood tests, a couple of hours apart, if they think it necessary. So take a book with you. :blue thumb:

They may even do a chest Xray whilst you're waiting (immediate results).

EAU is usually nowhere near as frenetic as A&E and it's usually just a matter of waiting for results each time. I went through it last year and it was a fairly relaxed atmosphere. As they had time whilst I was waiting they took my blood pressure a number of times, tested my eyes and a few other simple tests.

I've had tinnitus for over 50 years. Fortunately it hasn't been too bad and I have got used to adjusting to it. I've known friends who have had serious problems with it and can sympathise with anyone who is suffering.

I agree, had trouble the other day with my ear test as I wasn't sure whether some of the tones were tinnitus or ear testing. :noidea:

The ear man said that he could tell when I was responding to the test or to my tinnitus. The test sounds came at irregular intervals and my pressing of the button needed to coincide with them. He ran it a few times to make sure. :blue thumb:

He said that my hearing was exceptionally good for an old man :old: :heehee: (my words - he was more diplomatic :)). He actually said that I had the normal hearing for a young person.

@bigbore it could be Anxiety palpitations which is a common symptom with anxiety sufferers, but listen to our good friend @shiney visit your GP/A&E just to be sure;)

                  Too much information Woo:biggrin:

My FIL has the same problem and even though since he has been into a care home he has had his ears cleaned out a couple of times he still can't hear what I say to him when we visit and so have to get Mr Kandy to pass on the message as he sits on the bed nearer to his dad.I don't want to have to start shouting to get heard:snork:

He also has the telly on so loud in his room we can hear it half way down the corridor and Mr Kandy has to turn it down as soon as we enter the room:biggrin:

I could do with one of those hearing tests as I am partially deaf in my left ear (runs the the girls side of the family)and suffer with Tinnitus but knowing me I would end up with an expensive hearing aid that I feel I am too young for at the moment:)

Has anybody used the Chinese cones that you insert in the ear and the steam then lift the wax. What do you think about it? I would like to try them but I am a bit nervous.
