one of our first fusses was---- I had made him dinner at my apartment. Guess he thought he was helping. Took the lid of the pan, turned over the clean top and laid it in the muck of the pan below. Like really, make more work for me.

Electric kettle - not turned with the spout facing outwards, so steam goes under top cupboard :mute:. It could warp wood of top cupboard :nonofinger:

I posted the above on 6th January, guess what? Still no driving licence!

It was all sent back to me just to answer one question about a previous address of mine in England twenty four years ago. That question wasn't on the form????? I sent it all back with the question answered. Two weeks later it came back again, requesting an eye test with their named optician (who I wouldn't pass the threshold of by choice) as I'd declared an eye issue on the form. That eye test was yesterday and I also had to provide the optician with photographic evidence to identify me, either a passport, which I don't have, or my previous driving licence. And where is my previous driving licence......still with the DVLA of course! :gaah:The optician settled for a bank statement and utility bill without picture identification.

I passed the eye test with no problems but to be honest the results won't tell the DVLA whether I'm fit to drive or not, the test was so basic all it will tell them is I can still see. What a farce!

usually I say to folks regarding this job I have, that wish I had started a book for all the stupid things seen, and heard. today just another entry to that phantom book. arrived to one of my group homes to find a new staff folding clean clothes with plastic gloves on. Really, waste of gloves. I said to her, honey, you don't fold clean clothes with gloves on. She muttered something like having just used them for something else. but took them off. so my thoughts are well if that something else is dirty then -------. Closer I get to retirement, I swear they are going to fire me due to these dumb things.

@shiney I totally sympathise, my toaster/other half warped the last kitchen unit.

                My moans :snork:

Taking your camping stove, tea, sugar, milk and biccies to the plot and not bring the saucepan or a mug.. on the same note, other half has lost the camping kettle!!

Having someone's life story being told to you when you need to get on with digging, making you cold and grumpy.

Daughter has a letter from school saying they're going to see a show tomorrow, letter of consent also needs to be in tomorrow. Silly school.

Oh and a slow puncture.

Hey ho.....finally lost the most of the plastic off the polytunnel in last night's gale. As well as the blowaway green house disassembling itself around the tender plants on the terrace. Then tripped on the naked frame and gave myself a black eye on the oak post that holds up the roof overhang:mad: All that before 9am :lunapic 130165696578242 5: Going to have a fun day tomorrow repairing all the damage!

One of the cats has been sick this morning, in 3 places.. one which includes my new boots! Can only guess which one.. think it's <-- Timmy. He's been in and out all morning. Poor dab. Poor boots.

Also, BT are increasing their prices, do I switch? Reading an email from Money Saving Expert we can switch within 30 days without incurring the cancellation fee, I'm quite happy with the fibre broadband, not so happy with call charges.. 30p for a call that was hung up on as soon as it got to voicemail, £2 for a 30 second call to a mobile and don't really want to go back to Talktalk as they're connection (normal broadband) was useless but they're cheaper.. hmm. Do I try their fibre?

@Linz Do you have a BT landline and their internet?

With their landline you can get 10% discount if you pay a year in advance and it will give you free number recognition (as long as you ask for it ). You can also pay extra for 'Anytime calls' which will allow you to make free calls to all normal landlines and 0845 numbers and half price calls to mobiles (don't understand the £2 for 30 seconds bit ).

If you're calling to mobiles overseas it's best to use something such as Skype, which will cost you next to nothing - we pay something like 2p a minute to the U.S.

You would need to work out whether the monthly charge for Anytime would be less than paying for your calls. For us it's considerably less as we make a lot of calls.

                          Stuff a paltry 10%, discount!

If BT wont match much better current deals for new users, simply cancel and use mobile phones/mobile data for a few weeks and get massive introductory discounts + cashback + supermarket vouchers. And do it again, again, and again. If worried about retaining BT email addresses, they can be retained until your new, cheaper account has been created.

Yes @shiney I have both, I just checked online but it won't give me the option, just pay £18.99 a month/quarter by direct debit. Maybe I would need to ring them up? Not only that, it just means I'll be stuck with them for longer than I anticipate, I do hate long contracts.

The phone "package" I have is unlimited weekend calls, I don't really use the house phone unless my mobile isn't charged and calling companies on the mobile as it MUCH cheaper. I do have a few features already with that such as caller display, 1471 etc but I won't pay for an answer machine which I already have!

I already have BT Infinity 1 for £29.98 and the offer available to me is to upgrade to BT Infinity 1 (?) for a monthly cost of £31.49.. which doesn't make much sense as the prices are already rising by £2.50, just think they're trying to rope me to a longer contract with them?

@Scrungee There is only one offer on at the moment with a pre-paid £100 mastercard card.. and that is for new BT customers! Cheek of it! I have stuck to using my mobile for ringing companies since finding out how much BT charge.

That's what meant, cancel for a couple of weeks (check!) and you will be classed as a new customer.
