I could and probably should have asked but normally, when you go there they approach you and see what your unloading, they all walked off to the side to watch me. Quite harsh/intimidating when your 5 ft 2 and probably the only female who's been there all day. I looked at them a few times to see if they were going to help as the way the bins (they're lorry containers) are set out you have to walk behind them, which is pretty far when your carrying a heavy load. Really ticked me off that they knew I was going to the wrong bin and said nothing until I was getting back in the car and then went off to help someone clearly more able than me. Maybe I should complain..

When I am out and about, and I need help, and see some "Men" about , I ask them to come over and help.

I weigh 9 stone and am your height and I gave up long ago on thinking hairy armed help will come along. I can now heft over 50 lbs. About 18 months ago I moved a monolith of 5/8 wallboard, the old kind. Took me part of a morning but got it done :)

I would never ask a man to help me with anything unless he was hired to do. Just how I've learned to cope with life's little challenges :)

As I enjoy a good moan I phoned BT yesterday about Mrs Shiney's phone bill.

There's very little to pay but the way they lay it out makes no sense at all. Down the left hand side are the different sections and the explanations of what they are about. On the right hand side, in those sections, are the charges.

First section:- explanation, "as you pay line rental saver, one year in advance, there is nothing to pay". Self explanatory, you would think. :blue thumb: Charged £3.98!

(Note: when you pay line rental saver you get Caller Display free)

Second section:- "Caller Display at £1.75 per month." Charged £1.75 :mute:

Third section:- "Discount Caller Display. You get your phone line at special rate giving you a discount of £1.75 per month." Credit £0.73 :rolleyespink:

Fourth section:- "Broadband package £18 per month (including unlimited calls and unlimited broadband). Credit, special offer discount, £3 per month."
This is followed by our actual agreement of "You get your package at a special rate and we show this on your bill by giving you a discount of £7.15 per month". Charged £17.00 :hate-shocked:

There are a couple of other items as well.

I phoned their accounts dept. (got straight through :dbgrtmb:) and spoke to a very nice man. I explained the situation to him and he called up the bill on his computer. He agreed it didn't make any sense and then said he couldn't find any record of me having paid the Line Rental Saver! I, firstly, pointed out that on the bill it says that I have paid. He agreed but still couldn't find the payment.

I then told him what day it was paid on, last March, and who their operator was that took the payment by credit card. I also read out to him the full details of the agreements I had got from them. ( I transcribe all phone conversations when it's about contracts and agreements as they may seem perfectly clear at the time but 12 months later everything is a bit blurred :noidea:.)

He said that all this, because of special agreements, is above his pay grade so he shall be passing it to the 'off line department' who will phone me back at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. A very friendly and polite conversation that took about five minutes. We'll see what happens on Wednesday :snork:

I enjoy it too. Moaning is vastly under rated in my opinion:). I'm thinking of setting up a business as a professional moaner, I think it might be very successful:loll::loll:

Yes, when younger I could fling a 75 lb bag of corn on my shoulder and walk through two feet of snow to the chicken coop. but now, older, I use the redhead women card, and ask for help. So far no man has turned me down.

I'm taking cod liver oil supplements to help with dodgy knees - they appear to work for me.

I've just trawled the net, a newspaper reported in 2013 that cod liver oil increases the risk of prostate cancer and in 2015 that same newspaper reported that cod liver oil reduces the risk of prostate cancer.

What a load of tosh

Maybe :dunno: But it is only a newspaper report ;)

I would be inclined to look at how those results were arrived at. I wouldn't be content with a newspaper report, I would want to see the actual research paper which arrived at that conclusion. I would want to know their methodology, the number of participants in any trial, what led to those conclusions etc., etc.

A very quick search and it seems there may be a link between high levels of omega-3 in the blood which suggests a link to those who had prostrate cancer. In that quick search I haven't been able to work out what constitutes a *high* level. Nor did the research I was reading briefly about take into account diet or supplements in those with prostrate cancer who did have high levels of omega-3 in their blood.

I would go back to the sage advice passed down the ages: a little of what you fancy does you good; nothing in excess.

Now ... do you eat bacon .... ?

                              ;) :heehee:

There is some evidence that virgin coconut oil rubbed into the knees helps them. There's also no danger of overdosing. :dbgrtmb:
