@shiney @Jiffy was on my way to the bank so I thought I would get some petrol every pump had a car using it apart from just one as I was just driving to it,a moron drove past yours truly and beat me to it,he then got out of his car went in to the garage and then came out with a can of coke and a bar of chocolate,he didn't want any petrol:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The only problem I have with the "looking straight in the eye" part is ...

@wiseowl we had that a few years ago coming back from Scotland. We had been driving for hours and needed fuel for the car as we were towing the caravan.Anyway we pulled up behind a car and the owner had already started filling his car up so Mr Kandy proceeded to fill our car up which took a little while as our car has a large tank:snorky:

The driver of the car in front of us went off to pay for his fuel and Mr Kandy paid for ours at the machine with his credit card.He got back in the car and waited, and waited and waited for the other driver to come back and claim his car. All in all we must have waited behind this car for a good fifteen minutes and Mr Kandy was by this time getting fed up as we still had a good few hundred miles to go and it was a hot day.Eventually the driver came out of the shop carrying about four coffees on one of those grey recyclable trays plus he was struggling with bags of food as well.By this time Mr Kandy was fuming, because the garage had got some sort of coffee/snack shop so all the car drivers were abandoning their cars so that after paying for their fuel they were all going to the cafe/food shop and stocking up on coffees and grub because it looks cool to walk around with a coffee cup in your hand.

We just can't see the point in having a coffee shop in the same place as you pay for your fuel because (A) you can't drive properly with a coffee cup/sausage roll in one hand and (B) the car drivers are holding up people like us who just want to fill up the car with fuel, pay for it then get on our way:mad:

When we did that we laid an electric underfloor membrane. :dbgrtmb: At the time it wasn't all that expensive but I guess they're not so cheap now.

Our entire house has ceramic floors. Also, the kitchen and both bathrooms are fully tiled, with concrete ceilings. All of this is lovely and cool in our long, hot summers ... but not so comfy in our cold (currently 15c days / 8c nights and we will go lower till March). We do have 5 meter ceilings in the lounge, hall and bedrooms , which helps in the winter with the ceiling fan in the lounge on reverse. We have in wall air con / heaters in the kitchen and bedrooms and a log fire in the lounge ...but the tiled floors are always cold. The last couple of years I've started to wear socks ... must be age! :old: :hate-shocked: :rolleyespink:  :heehee: :what:

All well and good when you have solid walls but I live in a glorified shed (tin/bisf pre-fab) way too expensive for what it is. We had external wall insulation and new windows 2015, it has made absolutely no difference :(

I'd love a log burner but the flue has been taken out.. I'll deal with my electric fire being on. Ho hum!
