Not having a countdown calendar"days until last frost" similar to an advant calendar. Then each day I would at least get a chocolate to chew on instead of champing at the bit !

Mother's day over here is usually the final click for the last frost. So May 13 or so. @CanadianLori

@redstar I do know when it is for my area. I just wish we had some little reward system for the last leg of the wait!

My reward is I am gone on holiday the first 2 weeks in May to Key West, Florida for four days and then this year to St. Maartens. then home for a week to garden before returning to work.
But I will miss the continued flowering of all my bulbs while gone, and my cats.

              Well. Here I go!
Sycamore (insert swear word of choice) Trees!!!!
we have 3 huge trees at the back of garden that block the light. Last year after a lot of climbing (love it) I took down many branches to thin them out. I left enough for the birds to congregate in as I couldn't be without photography out there. I also have bird boxes mounted high up in them which proved successful last year.

My moan is, the 'helicopters', as we always thought of them as kids, have rooted everywhere. I kid you not, Hundreds of them in every pot, border, and crevice available. I've been pulling them out all day and still loads to go. It's taking more time than imaginable. On a good note though, I'm getting rid of lots of weeds at the same time.
              Enjoy your day, people.

Going to bed too late, constantly, then missing the early mornings that I used to crave. Must start setting alarm clock.

                          @luciusmaximus

I've never understood what that word 'sleep' means .

Is that the thing that people do when they lie down, close their eyes and make funny noises from their nose and mouth? I don't have time for any of that nonsense. :nonofinger:

I get an occasional hour or so of relaxing in an armchair :noidea:. I forgot that the newer members don't know that I don't go to bed at all, or sleep much. :)

My moan is Ladies who don't put the Loo lid down, yes ok us men get told off for not putting the seat down after using the loo. My daughter & Grandaughter live with me ( not my choice) I bought an expensive toilet mat set, never see the lid cover as it's always up.

I've just updated the car insurance for Mrs Shiney's new car. We are only six weeks into the new insurance year but the new car arrives on Monday. They wanted an additional £240. :rolleyespink:

Admittedly the old car is 17 years old and only valued at £100 with fully comp insurance at £160.

The new car (straight from the factory) will, obviously, cost more because of the value. They said that the new engine being only 1 litre instead of 1.6 on the old car makes no difference as they don't take the engine size into consideration. Try telling that to my friend who bought a secondhand 3 litre Jag! :snork:

I told the insurance company it was too much as it made a total of £400. So they dropped the extra amount by £62. They said that it may be even cheaper at renewal but they can't offer cheap deals part way into an insurance agreement. I'll shop around this weekend just to see what I can get (can cancel existing policy with no penalty).

On the up side, the policy covers new for old for two years.
