Apparently I bought seasons tickets to the NBA- the c.c. company now (20 minutes ago) has agreed that there is no way this was my charge and now will reverse it however the credit will happen in this period and the charge was in the last so I have to pay up to prevent paying interest and then use the credit next month.
I will be receiving a new card too :)

I use a different card, an amazon card for out of country purchases. There is no added percentage for the exchange. A big deal for me :)

That is a stress @Linz . But a lesson indeed. To have a paper signed by someone that they received the money, and use that as your proof. can't do anything about it for this time. Also don't understand why the school did not offer such paper.

          Sorry to hear your problem.
Sadly in the day and age I trust very few people except my two daughters. I have lost all respect for most GP’s, Judges, MP’s and local Councillors/Officers; most are only in it for themselves.

have to say @Linz I have noticed an increase in ineptness all around. that, when one assumes a certain group should have it together and they don't. I am on high alert that there cannot be expectations that the next proper step will be done. I would rather ask an insulting question than assume they got it, then later just apologize for that question.

Then I would say the liability lies with them: if giving receipts is not standard practise, then that is very poor accounting for any business, let alone a school were trips are concerned. I would argue that it is not your position to prove payment, but, *their* responsibility to record payments as that is all part and parcel of their business accounting system both for auditing and tax purposes. If they do not have a set procedure in place for recording payments (e.g. receipts!) then the onus of proof (just my humble opinion, not law as far as I know) is on them and not on you.
However, one thing you have said stands out as, not only a way forward, but as a means of "proof": in future, all payments should be made by cheque!!

I recall when I paid for school meals for my boys: with the odd day of school closures here and there, I once received a "reminder" that their account was owing/in arrears. :dunno: I went back over my calendar to count the days attended, balanced it against the cheques I had submitted and then realised that we were, in fact, in credit! I responded and highlighted that the maths simply didn't add up for the amount I was "allegedly" in arrears. Lo and behold, the response was that it was sent in error and I did not owe any money. Hurrah! Except, nor did it mention that our "account" was in credit either. So, I sent another letter thanking them for confirming our account was no in arrears and please could I have a "statement" for the year, for both lads, so I could reconcile my account accurately because, in my opinion, I was in credit which seems to have been over looked. Talk about (please rearrange) Amongst pigeons, the cat! :heehee: So very poor was the account keeping, the returned response was: Thank you for your reply and highlighting that your account is in credit. We can confirm that no monies are due for school meals for the rest of this term (erm ... that was four weeks! I calculated we were only in credit for 5 days! :dunno: Guess someone forgot their abacus that time around :heehee: ).
Now, my integrity wouldn't allow me to take advantage, so, instead, I retraced my financial history/school meals due/subtractions for Baker Days or sickness and compiled my own statement mentioning I calculated only 5 days "credit" and then submitted a cheque, in advance, to cover until the end of that term. Lessons learned on both sides and no unfair or undue advantage given.

Challenge it! People make mistakes; we're all only human and it's not a hanging offense. But still challenge it if only on their procedure for *not* giving receipts for monies received.

Still don't get comfortable over this change. Continue to be watchful with all.

I over hear my co-workers issues with schools, its sad .

and when is your next "Teacher/Parent " conference. Or ---would write a clear/subjective complaint letter and have several parents sign it. Do both. Sometime Bitching is so clearing of the soul.

In my house, I have my husbands office, and the living room, and the sun room, and the basement and the 3 acres to name a few places. In the morning, I have to be sensitive not to make noise in the kitchen such as putting the dishes away, as it wakes baby husband. So other quiet things are done. So, he gets up, and proceeds to make a "cell" phone call from the stools at the counter top in the kitchen. Now as I'd like to get certain things done before going to work. I empty the dishwasher, and of course I make noise putting stuff away. He says--- you can't wait---I am on the phone - I say "Nope can't relocate this kitchen" (thinking---get off your stern and go elsewhere).

Good morning I have found something to moan about to day;)

Penny and Tiny(Two jack Russel's) are both due their Front line flea treatment, but as it doesn't seem to work as it used to,I decided to change to Advocate, which online requires a Vets prescription(its a lot cheaper) , the vet informed me that as my furry friends were different weights I would need two separate prescriptions at £19 each ,penny is 10.1 kg and Tiny is 7.kg, but if I was to get them at the vets it would be £38 and £42 ,as penny was over 10.kg,I politely informed my vet that .1 of a kg was 100 grams could I not get the same does, for Penny as for Tiny ,he said no the rules say that she must be under 10.kg as if I purchased two packs for under 10.kg the vet would only charge me £66 for both,so I removed Penny's collar and she weighed in at 10.005kg but he said she was still over 10kgs,he is the only vet in Town so he has no competition ,so by the time I have paid £38 for the prescriptions it would be no cheaper on line, but I am not finished yet, thanks for listening my friends:smile:
