So sorry to hear of your problems @wiseowl and hope you get it sorted soon:grphg:

Years ago before we moved we had one of my brothers round Xmas day with his family and the next day we had problems with our toilet bing blocked up.We rang the emergency council number as it was Boxing Day and everyone was on holiday and they sent a man round pronto and he reckons that someone had put a disposable nappy down the toilet hence the blockage:th scifD36:

We couldn't accuse my sister in law of the deed as they had already gone home by then and we couldn't search through their bags before they left and at the time there wasn't a problem:)

Since we have been here a few years ago we started having problems with our downstairs loo and the manhole that is in the front garden started to smell quiet badly and it didn't matter what Mr Kandy tried to do the problem wouldn't resolve its self and as it was hot weather we had to get on to Anglian Water to come and see what was goin wrong. The man came and took up the manhole cover outside the back door and apart from all the roots from my clematis that was growing down into the drain all was fine, but the manhole in the front garden was nearly full to overflowing hence the smell so he had to get his equipment out the back of his van and had to sort out the sewers in the road and release all the stuff in there before ours would empty.(Ours is so big it has metal steps to get right down into it:snorky:)After it was all finished Mr Kandy asked if anything had been found and the man said yes,One disposable nappy and plenty of face wipes. It appears that someone couldn't be bothered to put the nappy in the dustbin and the wipes were from where the mums clean up after their kids or use the face wipes to get off their make up etc. These wipes do not dissolve in water and on no account should they be put down the loo.He never mentioned anything about the quality of loo paper used but we always use Andrex:snorky:

Hi time I moaned about a gardening related subject rather than what has been discussed above:)My god why the hell don't seed suppliers warn you when certain seeds are microscopic:yikes:?
I "sowed" my 1st attempt at growing Celery today.
Noticed the number of seeds in the packet was 350. Hmm me thinks this pack should last me a few years. Fill tray with compost open the pack and as I thought , wrongly, gently tapped the pack of seed over the tray. Stuff like dust shot out of the pack.........then nothing. Peered in the small packet, empty:yikes:.
OMG the dust WAS the 350 seeds, just flaming great, whole lot sowed on an area of about 3 inches square, terrific. Hey ho, well the tray has been hurled in the heated propogator so we'll see what if anything happens. I've a feeling if I'm lucky that I'm going to get a mound of green shoots about the size of a golf ball and nowt else. If by some miracle I get good germination, will anybody be wanting some Celery seedlings. Like Celery but NOT 350 of the bugg..s!

Celery is great chopped in chicken salad and lovely steamed on top for the last 15 minutes in a chicken casserole. I also love mushroom soup with chopped celery, diced red peppers and onions and sweetcorn seasoned with ground black pepper and coriander using leftover chicken and served with pasta. I call it Chicken/Turkey Victoria. Then there's chicken and celery stuffing sandwiches. Celery stuffed with cream cheese and paprika for a change. I think I just like the combination of chicken and celery. :heehee:
