Pheasants are such stupid birds , we get lots on the country lanes around here . All with a kamikaze death wish . On the Ebay suggestion , I can understand reluctance if you have not used it before. But I don't know how I could manage without it . From buying seeds ( some really really good sellers on Ebay ) , to buying the odd packet of bolts etc etc. Have sold a few things as well from golf clubs to a kitchen we were having replaced :blue thumb:

Hi @HarryS With Ebay I've noticed you find out the good sellers from the bad...take example my e cig neubalizers there was two sellers selling the same quantity matching the same price, one set kept leaking and the others didn't and I've had them from that seller a good while now and never no trouble :)

A lot of people are wary of e-Bay but it's fine if you use some basic common sense.

It's the first place I look for anything. If nothing else it will tell you what you should be paying for something on the high street as a lot of companies large and small use it as well as their own website. If it's the same price as the high street and the postage is either free or less than the cost of the petrol to go and buy it, let alone the inconvenience, I'll choose e-Bay every time.

My last few purchases were a DVD, a pair of work boots for the garden, a new remote control for a TV £5.50. Some photo copier paper, some Samsara perfume for my wife, half a dozen "Poppy" china mugs and some replacement Fiskars trimming blades for my wife's paper cutter.

Over time I've had a few hundred transactions, both buying and selling and have never had a problem. I'll only buy from someone with 100% feedback, over many transactions. Suppliers are usually protective of their 100% feed back as it's a selling feature, so will move "heaven and earth" to make sure you're happy with your purchases.
I always pay with PayPal, for additional security.

@Kandy Poor Pheasant . They are quite dull when it comes to road sense. I went into Holyhead yesterday morning and when I came back about an hour later there was a male Pheasant on the lane that had just been killed by a vehicle . We have Pheasants come into our garden, they are lovely birds. Not a good start to your day and a pain about your car too

Woo, you could advertise your cooker on Freecycle. Working appliances always seem to be in demand on these sites

We have scrap metal men who come up the close once or twice a week and collect any scrap metal you leave on the end of the drive.
If you gas cooker is fitted with a bayonet type connector just press and turn to disconnect. I am not sure of the regs these days but to connect it , a new installation , you need a Gas Safe registered fitter ( formerly Corgi ) . So you will need to pay the £85. I would check if the delivery guys are Gas safe registered.

When you buy appliances here, the shops are obliged to take the old one away free of charge. As there are no individual bins at houses, rubbish is taken to collection points, about every block, some with attractive bins usually contained within walls. You can put furniture, garden rubbish, etc, next to them but not appliances which the stores have to responsibly dispose of. You pay a few Euros a month on your water bill for collection which is done daily in towns and twice a week in the country like us ... our bin is 200 meters up the lane. Good system.
