I shouldn't moan because I am on holiday. Today we went to the ventnor botanic gardens. Last time I was there it was free. Today it cost £9.50 each. There was a disclaimer stated that due to the beast from the east, the garden is not in as good condition as it would otherwise had been. My view is that if a service has been reduced the price should be reduced accordingly. The other day we went to pizza hut for the all day buffet. The Bain Marie wasn't working so there was no pasta on offer. To me that' a reduced service and should be priced accordingly.

I will be moaning next week. I've pushed her highness, and Mother Nature will make me pay for it.

Hanging pots out. Plants shifted to unheated greenhouses.

The refuse collectors left the equivalent of a "post-it note" on the green bin yesterday, to remind me that if I want them to continue to empty it, I need to cough up another £35 to the council for the privilege.

 

Driving back on the M6 from a few days in Cumbria yesterday. Occasionally watching the police cars booking the Audi drivers on the hard shoulder - yes all 3 were Audi's I was going south , when I arrived at the Blackpool / Lake district interchange at Preston , there was a traffic jam going back at least 3 miles, on a 5 lane motorway . Who wakes up on a bank holiday , with gorgeous weather and thinks "let's go to the seaside ! ". Bet it was chaos on the way home early evening as well .
