@Kandy , it's nice to be nice :) I'd feel proud I'd helped someone in their " hour " of need.
If you ever need them, I'm sure they will return the favour :blue thumb:
A good relationship with neighbours is priceless :)

How to dispose of empty co2 gas cylinders:

      At Council Tip -

Me - do you accept empty co2 cylinders?
Council man - no response - it appears I must have been speaking a dialect of Mandarin as he stares into the distance

      Internet - at home -

Me - checked the Council internet site - all tips accept gas cylinders, so I telephone Council to confirm that my local tip will accept co2 cylinders.

      Phone to Council -

Me - do you accept gas cylinders at your sites?
      Council man - yes
Me - do you accept co2 gas cylinders?
Council man - don't know - here's the number of the tip - you can call them to confirm.

      Phone to tip -

Me - phoned up - engaged
Me - leave for 30 mins
Me - phone, receiver picked up but no one speaks
Tip man - puts down phone
Me - phone, receiver picked up but no one speaks
Tip man - puts down phone.
Me - phone, call cut off immediately
Me - phone, call cut off immediately
Me - start to get slightly peeved

      Phone to Council -

Me - the staff at your tip are not answering, can someone else respond to my question?
Council man - hold the line, I'll check
      Me - wait.....
Council man - we don't accept any type of cylinder at any of our sites
Me - your internet site says you do
Council man - I'll pass on your request to change the internet information
Me - thank you - phone goes down

Waste of time - the word nerks comes to mind.

The next time I go to the tip - if I see a single gas cylinder - someone's ears will be boxed.

We've taken them to a supplier or local garage that supplies in the past and they've been accepted. Not sure about c02 but it's worth a try.

Unfortunately they are the large co2 cylinders that are used in pubs to push beer through the pumps - they are rusty with no markings to indicate who they should go back to.

The scrap man won't take them.

It looks like they'll have to stay tucked away in the corner of the garage.

The Council is already under fire for not responding to public or Councillor enquiries in a timely manner or even at all.

The Tip man just didn't want to answer the phone - he's very lucky that I didn't drive down there and place a call from my mobile whilst standing outside his 'office' - I wonder what he would have said when I popped my head around the corner and asked why he wasn't answering my call?

Just cut them up and lovingly create a bbq or wood fire from them :)

If they're co2 the cylinders may belong to BOC gases that is why no one will take them, just becarefull with cutting them up, they belong to someone

There should be a name stamped into the bottle

Might be better to ask on a homebrew forum, as many homebrewers use CO2 cylinders for their Corny (Cornelius) Kegs.

I ordered two 800 liter plastic composter bins weeks ago and was told, in an e-mail, the delivery date was the first week in November. Then I got another e-mail telling me that there was a new delivery date of the 12th November only to get a phone call a couple of days later to say that they would now be delivered today the 16th November. Well, there was no delivery today and now I found that a new delivery date in my e-mail for 21st November:dunno::wallbanging: Just to finish it off I was under the impression that they were being sent from Spain and now find they're coming from Germany although the seller in in the UK. The 21st November????..............maybe, maybe not.:coffee:

Cheshire West offer very cheap, council subsidised composters of various sizes, on their site

Thanks Jack, my friend:love30::thumbsup: Yes, they do, but they're not the thermal type that I want and they're not the right size. I've done a lot of research on composters that will replace my huge 40 year old compost heap and eventually decided to get the ones I have ordered, whether or not that is the right decision I will find out when they eventually arrive:heehee: The major redesign of the patio, area at the back of the garages that line one side of my garden and the gable end path will need a neater, more efficient compost heap than my old one so these composters are part of the plan.........
