I used a micro screwdriver for the bigger bits and then to finnish off i used a blowtorch, the worst bit was that some of it went into the slip clutch so that had to be taken apart

I didn't to start with when taking off the side panel but once i seen what was inside then yes i was wearing gloves and i made sure that i washed my hand many times

At lease the chain doesn't need lubriction now!!

We've bought tins of baked beans from 2 supermarkets, the tins from the one haven't got a lot of baked beans in. But they probably came from the same place as the others, but with a different label.

In preparation of the redesigning of the hard area (patio, gable end path and large area behind the 3 garages that line my garden I've been busily buying large plastic composters to replace the huge, old present compost heap. Two of them were due to be delivered in the first week of November, then on the 12th November, then on the 16th November, and after making a "enquiry" to the seller via Amazon I have been told they will definitely be delivered on 22nd November in the morning....(pinch of salt required:doh:). Also the Composters don't come with a base (soil fence) so you have to buy them as extras:wallbanging:. Trying to get them is like trying to find

            [IMG][IMG]

as the people selling the composters don't have the bases or, if they do, they don't have the size of base to fit the larger composters:gaah: I managed to buy the last two in stock, after a lot of searching, from another retailer in Germany. They were supposed to arrive tomorrow but arrived today and luckily I was at home so better that than another late delivery.:dunno: I've, since buying the first two composters , bought another one of the same size and yet again had to search for a base for that but in the end had to settle for ordering from the same retailer where I've got the first two bases from, who is now out of stock, but will get one for me. But, both the 3rd Composter and the base are not estimated to arrive until after Christmas!!:dunno::doh: I would have thought ordering garden stuff would be easy but the practice of retailers holding minimal stock can be a pain!!

Just as an add on to my purchasing composters and the numerous changes in delivery dates, the third composter, ordered 2 days ago from a different retailer, was originally given a delivery date in January next year, a e-mail yesterday was vaguer saying delivery would be 3 to 5 weeks. Today there were two e-mails giving first a delivery date in December, and the second e-mail saying 1 January........just to finish that off I got a phone call this afternoon to say it would be delivered next Monday!!!!:coffee::snorky:

I hope they deliver to the right house. :fingers crossed:

I arrived home about 10 p.m. the other night and saw a cardboard box sitting on the grass verge, under a lamppost, outside one of my neighbours. Although it was drizzling I decided to have a look. It was a delivery from a food company, marked 'Urgent, same day delivery' and had an address on it which is a house 300yds up the road. It gave delivery instructions on the outside of 'If no answer, drop it over the gate'. Attached to the box was a delivery card saying 'You were out and we have left your delivery in a safe place'.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't those delivery notes supposed to be put through the person's letter box and not attached to the package and left 300yds away on a grass verge? I'm not sure that I would want my parcels delivered (or not) by DPD!

Fortunately, in very small print, there was a name and phone number on the box to whom it was to be delivered. So I phoned them and we met half way between our houses. Apparently they had only moved in six weeks ago so now have a good opinion of the neighbours :blue thumb:

Well done @shiney always a good idea to be neighbourly. You never know when you might need them or visa versa. There are only 1 farmhouse and 3 other houses on our road. We all get on with each other and keep an eye out for any suspicious goings on. Perhaps why we all are neighbourly is none of us are in immediate proximity and therefore do not impact negatively on each other with noise/parking issues/smoke from fires etc. I don't think us humans were really designed to live cheek by jowl and need our own space. Unfortunately in many parts of Britian this is not possible due to the ever increasing population.

@john558 it happens in cars too, slamming their brakes on stopping where they like, I've even seen them stop on busy roundabouts!

Yep I've had that to, and you think, now, I didn't see a hazard ahead.
While I was bus driving you would get the idiots overtake the bus, brake hard and turn left expecting the bus to vanish.

They did, Shiney. In fact, the delivery of the composters was at 08.15 this morning:hate-shocked: The delivery base was in Manchester and yet the driver had already done two deliveries in Congleton. So now the two composters are in the garage waiting to be put together after the landscapers have finished. If all goes well, I will have the 3rd composter delivered on Monday and will only need the soil fence to it, which hopefully be delivered before New Year:heehee:
