After being reminded that it's soon time to set up my solar pump and then deciding that I should use the second one which has never been out of the box to service the capillary system in the two smaller 6x4 greenhouses, went out to measure the space between the greenhouses because that is where it would be ideal to place the rainbarrel because that is to be the water source.

Space between 19". Rain barrel 22 1/2"

So now I have to move the thing, base, contents wiring, irrigation, 4 inches :gaah: oh well, I've still got my Christmas blubber to wear off. Will start that right after Easter when I've got my wage earning work finished.

Oh yeah, forgot to say, Thank You @Snorky85 for bringing up this overlooked job...... :heehee:

I found a job so I had money to buy gardeny things.
I'm either at work or catching up on housework, as for gardeny things....... I'm just hoping to keep up with watering :rolleyespink:

In today's news. Hampshire and Thames Valley police are installing roadside sensors to detect vehicles in which a mobile phone is being used. OK a step in the right direction, however at present the device cannot identify who in the vehicle is actually making the call. So vehicle EX04ABC comes onto the radar. The paperwork begins. Was it a hands-free device. May it have been back seat passenger? At present I have no privvy info, but perhaps in time the device will identfy the caller ID.

IMHO. Mobile phones are a great asset but what did folk do prior to the invention? Now people can't exist without the device being stuck to their ear.

          True experiences involving mobile phones.

In the High St. Walking towards Boots the chemist. Suddenly to my left. 'Hello'. As I have addmitted before, I have a devilish sense of humour. I dont identify the voice. 'Why hello there, and how are you I say. 'I'm good and you? Then the penny drops.

At the end of my road is a CIU club. Closing time and a happy, hic! member is walking...well, making his way home. 'Arry I told yer befor stay away.. etc etc. I open my window and call out. Hey mate! Switch your phone off. Harry can hear you.

Closer to home. My daughter Amanda. Her mobile is her filing system etc. She has all these different ring tone etc. I bet that within ten minutes of her sitting down in my home. Her mobile breaks the silence. This is your son calling. Answer it NOW.
Bless her. She really loves her dad. We are going shopping. Suddenly I am struck by the call of nature. I suffer with IBS. I mention my urgent...extremely urgent need to get to a loo. Mobile summons. 'Oh I must take this call'. There's me now internally twisting and turning, what if the loo is out of service????????????????????????????????????? Bloody mobiles!!!!!!!

I still live in a pre mobile phone world :old: :heehee:. If I'm not at home you can't contact me and I don't want to be contacted. Whatever it is, I've managed like that since WWII and not had any problems.

To be fair, I have a slight concession to the modern world with a phone call only old fashioned mobile that only gets taken out and switched on when we are at an airport. This simply for our taxi driver to contact us if he's having problems - or the airport charges a lot of money for parking.

Our local airport charges £3 just to drop someone off, even if you only stop for ten seconds . There's a back entrance to the airport only 50yds from the ramp up to the terminal building so a lot of people are dropping passengers off there and they then walk, with their wheelie cases, to the terminal. :noidea:

Nothing like walking round the grocers and hearing this noise comkng out of your purse and then realizing it's a telephone call... and then not picking it up in time

But thank goodness it worked out to be someone wanting to let me know that I'm about to miss a great deal on getting my ducts cleaned :)

Scum. It happens in the surrounding countryside here too and it's awful to see. Actually its increased significantly after the council started charging for use of the tip - they're acting surprised that the incidents have increased and can't figure out why!

Our council started charging for the use of the green waste biodegradable plastic bags. Green waste was always taken away free of charge. The scheme lasted eight weeks before they decided that green waste would again be free and they provided wheelie bins instead. I had warned them what would happen, people dumping their green waste on the roadside, but they ignored my warning and it cost them £50k in that two months!
