Because normal people are right handed.
If you are left handed your brain has been put in round the wrong way.

 

Have you seen how kids at skool hold pens and pencils these days, completely hamfisted.
A quick clip round the ear would soon sort that out.

 

I'm left-handed, but like most of that persuasion, for anything I need my right hand like a computer mouse, I'm OK with it.
I eat my dinner "right-handed," can't be bothered to change cutlery around.

 

Dearest @CanadianLori , you must, deep down, be a very nice person indeed, and being Foreign, a lot is naturally forgiven. And cows are pleasant animals with a benevolent gaze. So do not worry, you are accepted with warmth and understanding.

Don't worry @CanadianLori, eating knives will soon disappear as the present young generation are becoming one handed. The phone is always in one hand at meal times so a fork or, as with so many children, fingers only are used.

The saga of the Kitchenaid toaster has concluded. I received an e-mail today, confirming that the (second) replacement toaster is guaranteed for another five years from the date of the expiry of the guarantee of the first toaster (Feb 2018). They also sent me a 20% off voucher for any Kitchenaid appliance, so we bought a kettle.

Very true, as the left hand is seen as unclean. However, I have been given “permission” by my southern-Indian friends to eat with my left hand. They feel that making the effort to eat properly, albeit with the wrong hand, is better than using metal. (I explained that if I tried with my right hand, they would have to repaint the wall behind me!!)
