Ha! Finally the UK have got their finger out; I'm sorry for you guys but really he is a horrid person so glad he got stripped.

Perhaps he can have a nice flea infested syphilitic goat to cuddle?

Um... if it's working ok why swap the router?

That was my thought and I'm thinking of hanging on until they ask me to return one of them (it says that I should return the old one and they give a return sticker for it).

Well in my case I told them they didn't need to send a new router as that wasn't the problem... so they sent a new one anyway (it wasn't the problem) and asked for the return of the old one or the new one using the sticker or bag provided. I almost knew before looking that the sticker or bag wasn't there but I looked anyway. Nope. It's still here, in a box somewhere.

and this is what was in today's news.. his parents are thinking it would be a great idea to come and live off of us too ...:gaah:

John said he and Ms. Lane are considering moving to Canada in the longer term because they’ve been “basically hounded out of Britain” for being Jack’s parents.
“It’s destroyed us in a personal sense. It’s destroyed our family. It’s certainly destroyed us financially. We’re about destitute. We literally can’t pay the rent so we have to abandon our rented house,” John said.

If they're destitute and can't pay the rent then how are they going to buy tickets to 'visit' you?

In the interview I saw on TV of him in prison he stated that he had no relatives in Britain, they all lived in Canada, a country he had visited many times:scratch:;)

I thought at the time his parents are in Britain, as I remember them going to court about having sent him money and accused of supporting terrorism ;)

This is a set up by them, he says he has had no contact with them for years.

He's obviously now playing to the Canadian government, I hope they can find a way to get rid of him and his family.

@pete count your blessings that gene pool didn't spread on your homeland!

The parents think they can come here aand lobby our government to help get their son out whilst collecting social benefits to which they had very little input.

If the Conservatives win the upcoming October election, they have stated they know they cannot deny citizens entry here but they sure don't have to help them get here!

Saw on the news today. Folks living converted/adapted containers. Well at least ilere is a roof overhead.

What really gets me, and I am not a racist. When the media picks up on adverse critiscisms of life in the UK. I really do feel sorry for anyone who has to flee their homeland. However rather than thanking us, many immediately go on the attack. Like. We should be housed better than this. Scuse me lady. Back in your own country. Did you live in a palce, or some great mansion. NO. We were poor and our home was made from scraps with a tin roof. People like this. I suggest you pack your bags and go back home. There are many Brits being forced to live in worse conditions than you.

Just to try and put a little balance into the current situation that has been showing on the news, the poor conditions that these unfortunate people are living in has nothing to do with the town in which they are living.

They specifically showed an extremely large office block, in a town centre, converted to small flats and some industrial units also converted. They mention the town, implying that the town is at fault, whereas the reconstruction of those sites and the people put in them was all done by London boroughs. The local authority had no say in the matter and weren't allowed to object. This resulted in them being put in totally unsuitable places.

The town centre has no night life so is eerie and unpleasant at night and the giant office block is alongside the bus depot and the block has a lot of druggies moving in at night. The industrial area has no green spaces (the kids have a car park to play in) and there is no bus service with the town centre (for shopping) being over two miles away.

The majority of people moved into these places are white and not because of refugee status. There is very little work available to them for a number of reasons. The local job market was already at capacity and balanced quite well until they were moved in. This has put a burden on the local situation which now has higher than average unemployment and a much higher proportion of the population being one parent families or disabled.

Successive governments have made it too easy for some, especially London, local authorities to unburden themselves and just dump people on other authorities. There is no joined up thinking on how to cope with the situation and how to actually make it better instead of trying to 'sweep it under the carpet'.

Hey! Who just nicked my soapbox? :hate-shocked:
