So glad the pain has subsided, and even better that your vision is so much better after the operation!

Thank you for the :pathd:. I get my other eye done next Wednesday so I'm glad to be close to getting it all over with. :) The eye guy told me this morning at my follow up that I can drive this weekend. So I pretended it was Saturday and drove home. I do need sunglasses but I am amazed at how much better I can see. Course it doesn't improve my driving skills much :heehee:

I've had to wear corrective glasses or lenses most of my life so this is totally weird being able to see the bedside clock without picking it up and holding it two inches from my face!

oh, this is supposed to be a moan thread..

Those antibiotic drops I have to use and the steroid ones also are gall darned stingy! I'm guessing that at least some poor animal didn't get used for testing and since it's not life or death, am glad of it.

        Going cold turkey....

Had a dull headache the last week or so - started to get a bit worried. I won't take any form of drugs - including over the counter - unless prescribed by a Doctor.

Anyway, this got me thinking about whether it was something to do with diet - after racking my brain (which didn't take long ) - I realised that I hadn't been supping tea. Had a brew this morning and the headache is gone.

Does this mean, I am technically a drug addict? :yikes:

I'm probably weird but I really dont understand how people say the get hooked on caffeine???

I drink a couple of cups of tea a day, probably three cups of coffee, but it wouldn't bother me if I did or didn't, none of it has any affect I can notice.

Likewise chocolate, people say they get high eating it, I eat it, never felt any effects at all.

A mate of mine insists on decaffeinated tea, says ordinary gives him migraines, found out recently he drinks two cups of ordinary coffee at work, early mornings before I even get there.

I think people just think these things are having an effect, its really trendy.:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

It's even worse than I thought - I might also be addicted to sugar - you know, the sugar rush :hapfeet:.

On the way back from the allotment today, I popped into Morrisons and purchased a box of 6 cornettos.

I've just scoffed the lot - yes all 6 - I'm feeling a bit guilty - but am sure I will get over it shortly .

I've been getting quotes for painting the outside of the summerhouse. So far they've ranged from much too high at £1,500 (including materials) to too cheap at £240 (excluding materials). One more quote to come in.

I'm going to measure up the place to work out how much paint is needed so that I can get a good comparison.

Hi @shiney , I would have said the £240 sounds about right, although I don't know the size and also there is the postcode to look at as well ( Hertfordshire is probably going to be a bit more expensive than Worcester ). My mom has just had her living room done ( walls, ceiling, skirting everything ) and that was £220 for two days full work. They were there for around 18 to 20 hours so an average of about £11 per hour. ( My mom supplied all the paint ).

I don't think I could get by on £11 an hour especially if self employed ;).
Not sure about decorators but general carpentry around here is around £160,give or take a bit, a day.
I assume decorators work on a similar level.

Just got a road tax refund in the post - a cheque. A friggin' cheque!! I can't even remember the last time I saw one (before today obviously); I paid online and I want to be refunded the same way, direct into my account.
Now I have to go into town which is frustrating at the best of times and will probably lead to another moaning post!!
