They shut all banks here (4 miles away) so we have to drive (eco-friendy) 15 miles to the nearist one now, so now we shop there as well, local village is now more or less a sleeping town

Our bank has an arrangement with the post office that we can pay in (cash and cheques) and withdraw money over the counter. We can do that in any of the villages around here that have a post office. In our village it is the village teashop and in the next village it's the little village shop.

Whoaaa don't get me started on traffic:mute:..
In what used to be the village I grew up in and still live here you can never get parked..:mad:I wouldn't mind but all the parking spots are taken up by the people that work in the local shops, those very same people that live 5 minutes tops from where they work..Bloody madness :rolleyespink:..
Any wonder folk don't buy local...
Just to explain I walk to the shops unless it's a big food shop and I can't carry it home but these days days I drive 5 miles away to other shops for the simple reason I can't get parked...

This is what we have up here now. Just like a library they spend a certain amount of time in towns and villages. No good to me though, this isn't my bank.

I shouldn't think it's much different to a security van that picks up cash from retailers, Loofah.

My moan for the day (yesterday actually but wanted to brood for a night) and bit of a dual post with the brexit thread... Brexit has now officially affected me as all my projects in Europe have been canned by the US bean counters and I’ll be out the door early October. Day after my birthday, happy birthday treat.

I'm sorry to hear that @Loofah . Your firm doesn't seem to have given you much notice either. If it's any consolation my son-in-law and his colleagues have just been given the same news but he's not out 'til March. His work is in I.T. and it's all going to Bulgaria.

Thanks sheal, I'm a contractor so a couple of weeks as pretty generous of them to be honest. Still prefer to be working though!

My moan today is the reception on my DAB Radio in Ramsgate, TV signal is just as bad, perhaps too may phone masts around.

Today was spent in the local churchyard with a group of around a dozen other volunteers doing the annual tidy up and grass cut. It was a pleasant task, in a beautiful country churchyard, on a lovely autumn afternoon.

I was contentedly working my way through the long grass with my strimmer, happily doing my bit for the community effort and feeling all was well with the world.

Then I found the wasp's nest.

Got stung twice and chased around the churchyard by a swarm of angry wasps. As the old saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished.

I'm getting really fed up with the adverts on the BBC, oh no, nothing interesting to buy, just their bloody licence.

Every morning when I turn the TV on I get that stupid Ad of the two blokes in a tower block office and one is shredding a piece of paper, then the other one rushes over and says it's the only evidence we have?

Oh my god, change the bloody record you bunch of morons, we are paying our licence fee for this kind of garbage.
