That's good @KFF that you are asked, we have to remember to specifically ask for a longer app. And they (well some Dr's..not mine:blue thumb:) tend to stick with the ' one ailment per app. too.

Thats just unheard of round here, if you want to see the Doc you have to queue in the street from around 8am, they open at 8.30am.
You then get given a time to come back for a 5 min appointment.

If you want to make an appointment for 10 mins then you have to do that in advance and you can only have afternoons, that will usually mean a min of two weeks wait, 4 weeks if you work and want it late afternoon.

No early appointments, or late ones anymore, surgery closed on thursday afternoons for staff training, no saturdays either.:frown:

Just purchased a small table from the local camping shop - following a good clear out of the allotment shed this morning.

It annoys me that very little camping equipment comes in disposable packaging - and I end up having to pay for the bag/pouch/case or whatever that the item is in.

The allotment gas cooker came in a cardboard box and a smart plastic case - both of which I paid for and both of which have been binned. The small table came in a material case - with handles and zippers - which I have paid for to transport the table from the shop to the car and which will also be binned and never used again.

What a waste - perhaps camping shops should sell the bags/pouches/cases separately....but then maybe not as heaven forbid someone tries to cut down on waste.

Put the 'green waste' bin out this morning, bin men came ,went to bring back in and the burger is still 3/4 full...the contents were frozen solid..very cold night. It can't be helped I know but is going to be a trip to the tip... I don't mind the tip runs but it does gall me when I'm paying an arm and a leg every month..If they reduced the council tax I'd prefer to take it myself anyway.

Didn't you know that you're not supposed to put brown things in the green bin?

It's always best to phone them the same day as the lorry can be rerouted :blue thumb:

Watch out for the not so homeless people, There's gangs posing as homeless people to get your money, they sit there with sign that says homeless and hungry, give them food they don't eat it, check them out first, if you watch them they will make a phone call (on mobile) and some one will come and collect the money

                        Please be carefull

Oh that reminds me, I do have a moan - we've bought a new place that we haven't moved into yet and it has 3 green bins that one of our new neighbours thoughtfully packed to the gunnels with road sweepings. I couldn't move the damned thing so figured if it wasn't collected I'd tip it over and leave it back in the road (I'm not petty at all). Fortunately and surprisingly all 3 were emptied! Have now secured green bins out of the way of 'helpful' neighbours

I then politely(although I wanted to chew their head orf) told them that the bin has a dirty great crack in the bottom which leaks out all the gubbins and would like a replacement...Oh no problem :th scifD36:.."Just leave your bin out on Monday ..it doesn't matter how full it is...and it will be collected and replaced in the next ten days...bloody farcical if you ask me...:rolleyespink:
