Yes, I agree that is the reason. I was a presiding officer quite some years ago. The point here was simply that the people in the queue in front of her were not asked for their names or I.D. (neither was I when I voted) and she and Mrs Shiney were already on first name terms!

Have just been given 50 quid. Surely nothing to moan about?! Well it's from the bank; can't remember if I moaned on this thread about it but they blocked my account and ot took me a long time not just to get through but to answer all the questions etc so eventually when it was sorted I complained. I used their online system (that I could now access again) and for every little niggle I left a complaint. I think there was about 15 of them and they have clearly noted this and bundled them into one. They have just called and said terribly sorry etc, shouldn't have happened blah, and here's 50 quid. Sorted. Until I said, thanks for the money I'll be having that but do you know that in the 90 seconds we've been speaking you have listed all the things that should have been done differently so couldn't you actually pop off and change the ways it's done as you very clearly know your system is busted?
Errr, he says. He'll write me a letter.
Basic improvements to business systems seem to be far too complicated for some people lol

Now the 2nd part of my moan - do i keep the free £50 or donate to the RBL?

I always think horses and traffic should never mix, all farmers should have to provide bridleways for horse across their land and it needs to be a joined up network.

I'm alway cautious when passing horses, but I'm always especially worried when the have a 10yr old riding them on the public roads.

Likewise a certain section of society who have those two wheeled contraptions and the horse has to trot very fast, they come out on the roads at busy times and even at twilight around the country roads here.
The horse always look pretty scared to me.

I have seen similar acts by ponies in the local fields to my home, when a pony has died. My eldest daughter lives in East Boldre and she came up with the idea of luminous, reflective collars for the ponies. Despite all the tourist to the forest. Such deaths are due to locals driving badly.
