The thing I find is they dont, actually, often a lot are sold before they are built even, I tend to think the selling point is often "a new home in the countryside", which kind of defeats the object as once they have built the houses it is not countryside anymore.

But, to those that can afford these houses it is pretty much "countryside", due to the fact that it is only people from the London area who can afford them.

Local people cant afford the kinds of houses they are building in most cases, so the massive influx of people, often commuters, is clogging up the roads, the railways and the doctors surgeries.

We've had similar happen a few villages away....although its a smaller size development the houses they have built are around £1m....they have been stood empty and unsold for some time.

I guess if the Uk keeps allowing 350000 people a year into the country, wont build flats, and cant cram any more into the cities then it will have to concrete over the fields.

Vertical farming may be the answer to food needs.

            It's just a gimmick.

            I did!

The top of the voucher has a very large £5 OFF
In small print below it says "valid from 9th January to 21st January."
Even if you shopped on 9th January, say your "regular shopping day" you'ld really only have a week to use it..
They have the technology to advance the dates on the voucher each day. They just want you to shop weekly and spend the minimum £50.

Conversely we used a voucher from Iceland we got Christmas week, which was valid for the whole of January.

Not here. They already have the valentine displays up. Easter merchandising won't hit for at least another week. :doh:and they'll squeeze green St. Pats stuff in between too.

Valentines chocolates only taste really great the day after at half the price. :)

Went to town this morning and there's road works! waiting at the red light (as you do) there was a bi-cycle waiting in front of me, he was doing his best to stand still with out puting his feet down (funny to watch:love30:) then he just went through the red light (3 way lights) got most of it on dash cam but the bit where he went through red light isn't there because auto start/stop kided in and didn't record the bit he went through red light

I've not got anything against bi-cycles just people breaking the rules

@wiseowl re: wandering washing machines. How bad is it? If not too bad could just be how the load settles in the spin cycle. If it's really wandering could be one of the support springs for the drum that's snapped or disconnected. I had this years ago with an Indesit, fairly easily fixed with a new spring and scraped knuckles.
