Next village from ours has planted some new trees in a playing field. All very tasteful and supported etc... Some toerags keep lifting them and dumping them. One local has taken it upon himself to replant every morning and it's becoming a battle of wills... Can't blame boredom on this - it's kids at 0430 (caught on one of the Ring cameras apparently)!

Extract from a local news web site - time to go back to school:

For the first time since lockdown measures were introduced in March allow people will be meet with other households provided that social distancing measures are kept, that you stay outside and stay local.

Is proof reading a lost art?

Northern Ireland is often covered by those companies who have the rights for the Ireland of Ireland.

Probably @clanless, the current series of books I'm reading is 'proof ' of that.

They also seem to have lost the apostrophe in their print machine! :nonofinger:

Although one of my favourite apostrophe mistakes is this one I took a photo of in a shop window on holiday. When I read it I keep imagining a big dog jumping up and licking my face :rolleyespink:.

They've done it yet again - despite promises that they wouldn't.

Green Flag - renewal price for loyal customer of many years - £99.68. Renewal price for new customer - £61.60.

I've told them again and again to offer the same price to existing and new customer - and nothing happens. Here we go again - go through the pfaffle of taking out a new policy.

                  Honestly.....

I took out new car insurance this year because my renewal was a stupid price, the new one came with RAC cover, but roadside only, I usually have home start as well.
So I had to pay extra to get homestart with the RAC.
I'm already an AA member, so I just cancelled my AA membership, but it turns out I've been covered by both for 3 months.

How about we get car insurance and car insurance alone, not included add ons , then chose if we want them and pay that bit extra.
Its a scam, and should be treated as such.

I change my insurance providers (cars, home etc.) each year unless the existing company can better what I can find elsewhere. It does take a whole morning on the phone to do it and to get the cover I want and not what they want to give me. I save hundreds of pounds each year compared to the renewal quotes.

Will be purchasing a Halls 10 x 6 greenhouse with toughened glass.

From looking at the Halls web site - once the order is placed - delivery is in 30 weeks (which may be extended due to Covid-19) - are they serious?

Yep - here is a cut and paste from their web site - add on a couple of weeks for Covid-19 - et voila - potential customers go elsewhere:

                            Delivery

Delivery is normally completed within 30 WEEKS.

I did not capitalise the 30 WEEKS by they way - this is as is on their web site.
