I had to go through lots of heavy traffic this morning and was in a rush. I'm sure people thought I was a maniac but you know, even a Dodge Caravan can burn rubber! :heehee:

When I used to drive to downtown Toronto everyday, my ride was a piece of junk so I didn't much care about anyone trying to bully their way in. No signal, no getting in. Signal, yes, please come in sir. Anyway, after a time, the cab drivers kept their distance  Now, over there, I thought every vehicle I was in was going to crash as I just couldn't adjust to cars driving on the side opposite here. Scared the bejesus out of me a few times!

Nope, not joking, but I have to say I don't get many problems with my teeth, the teeth that do give any problem is the one's the dentist filled when is were very young

I thought all of Canada drives on the right. Didn't they change over in the 1920's - apart from Newfoudland which changed around the late 1940's.

@Upsydaisy I guess you're right but I was confused because I read it as implying that Lori was driving, but having read it again it only says 'vehicle that I was in' :dunno:. Study the words, Shiney!!!

My Mum took all 4 of us to the dentist every 6 mths. The dentist had his surgery in his house and his wife, who was also the Mayor, was his assistant. Their house was a huge ( well it seemed huge when you are so small ) Gothic style one and looked quite spooky but thankfully they were lovely people!! We were each given a little brown envelope full of calcium 'sweets' after our check ups .

I've been going to the dentist for check ups every year and to the hygienist every three months for over 70 years :old:. They look after them well for me :)

Before the NHS started our doctor used to have his surgery in his house - opposite ours. He had a small room, as his surgery, built on the side of it.

Yes our Dr was a neighbour when I was a child too @shiney . He has a really thick padded door to his consulting room ( I now know it was for soundproofing back in the day).

I'm like you and go regularly to my dentist and hygienist.....look at my smile  !!!:heehee:

I know what you mean pain relief is a bit hit and miss with me too. A couple of years ago a new dentist to the surgery kept giving me shots that didn't work and in the end I was referred to the hospital. Another time I was given several shots that seemed not to work........until much later in the day!!

Dentists, well dentists back in the 60s and 70s ruined my teeth.

Every time I went they would drill and fill, drill and fill.

Most of my teeth were pretty much all fillings by the late 80s, I think they just got paid in those days on how much mercury they used.
It was a racket that they jumped.

Strange thing is, I've still got left the remaining ones from 20 years ago and haven't had any drilled in years.

I had the same experience @pete. Still got alll of my teeth (other than wisdom teeth ,,splains some.. :) ) and now I never get cavities. I think it has to do with washing down the sweets with wine spritzers and only eating crisps whilst swilling beer :heehee:
