I'm sure my face would have looked like this if it had happened to me :yikes: ! And that is my moan - I could never play poker. Might as well wear mirror sunglasses...

Just listening to the radio and finding that folk are complaining because their flights to Spain have been turned round mid air due to Covid 19...Just what the hell is wrong with these people ,they should have had more sense in the bloody first place.Surely these stupid people will wake up sooner or later.

I think the thing is they booked a long time ago and if they cancel they lose the money.

If the flight/holiday is cancelled they stand a chance of getting a refund, but they have to go through the stupidity of turning up and getting on the plane and then being told its cancelled.

Its not the people, in this case, it's the morons running the show.

Now, if a 360 digger is working across a single track highway on a blind bend with no warning sign's before, you have to stop, the digger driver pushing back the soil from off the road and then lifts up the boom/digger arm and then wave's you to drive through under the boom/arm, do not drive under as if an oil pipe were to blow that arm will come down

@Jiffy those big machines are quite scary. A couple of winters ago I had the snow plow guy wave his shovel within inches of my face. He was trying to make me get off the end of my driveway so he could shove snow into it and I wasn't having it. There I stood at 1 in the morning. My winter jacket over my nighty, skinny legs in wellies, shaking my fist at him and not budging. One of the neighbour's told me the next day he thought the shovel was going to knock me down as it was so close to my head!

I have a great deal of respect for the damage those machines can do but not so much for all of the operators

Are any companies capable of making and supplying products that actually work anymore?

I have had a run of failures, all through Amazon currently, and whilst I haven't had any hassle so far in getting refunds, the inconvenience remains - particularly as I am one of those who should not venture out of the house in the current situation.

Back at Christmas time, Little C came and told me that yet another set of earphones had died on their backside - broken wire, again. Teenagers being teenagers will sit and use these earphones almost constantly, and will fall asleep with them in etc, and the wires break; this is not the manufacturers fault, so the cost comes to us. Utterly sick and tired of buying these earphones on a fairly regular basis, I decided to get her some wireless ones - delivered Christmas Eve, one happy child. They failed earlier this month, and after a wee bit of rigmarole, they were returned and I await the refund that was promised.

That was just over two weeks ago. As a replacement, I ordered a more expensive set (thinking you get what you pay for) at fifty quid; two days ago, Little C appraoched me as they weren't working properly, one earpiece was significantly quieter than the other. I did the usual checks, but to no avail. A return has been started, and they are awaiting being taken to the drop off point. Refund on those will likely take a couple of weeks.

I then ordered a wheelbarrow - admittedly very cheap at around £30, but I didn't want it to be all that great to be honest, all I wanted it for was to ferry the odd bits around the garden, as I simply cannot do it anymore. Upon trying to assemble it last weekend, it became clear that the holes drilled through the handles didn't quite have the same spacing as those in the tub (particularly on the upper part), and the tyre would not stay on the plastic wheel rim! Put any form of air pressure in it at all, and the inner tube tried to escape through the bead of the tyre and the tyre tried to fall off. Return requested, and they wanted me to pay the postage to send it back! Errrr, no - that is not how this works!

Hot on the heels of that, I had placed a small order (plant labels, and a couple of other bits and bobs) and whilst placing the order the delivery times had been changing so I took the item out of the basket and went off to find an equivalent; once I had that equivalent, I checked out. On delivery day, I got two tracking notices which confused me - looking at our account, they had dispatched TWO orders, one with the original item that I had gone back to change and then one with the substitute item. I lost the rag a bit and contacted Amazon - - they were very helpful, and tried to stop one of the deliveries, but only managed to stop one of the items; ironically, this was the item that I needed most urgently, so I had to place a further order to get that early this week. Amongst the rest was Tassimo coffee - I ended up getting 10 packs instead of 5, but to be honest I can't be bothered with the hassle of returning it and I will use it eventually, so it stays. Amazon also contacted their 'marketplace seller' regarding the wheelbarrow as I said I was not prepared to pay the postage on such a large parcel when it was defective goods.

The seller contacted me asking for photos, however I simply responded telling them what was wrong - the following day, they refunded me for the wheelbarrow and asked me to dispose of it! Does that indicate that they know they are complete garbage? No offer of a replacement, no offer to collect. Weird. I now have a wheelbarrow in a big box and no idea what to do with it next - can I drill the holes out to cobble it together and get a wheel elsewhere? Maybe.

And also ordered in the past week or so was a new chimnea (ours is years old and has rusted through), and a garden incinerator (the heavy duty oil drum type); the chimnea was delivered yesterday but because I was flat out with work it sat in our living room in its box. It is a two half type where the flue can be lifted off and the bottom half used as a barbecue or firepit. I just went to open it now, and found that the bottom half 'bowl' is smashed into around four or five pieces. Return started on that one too. The incinerator bin was said to have been dispatched early this week, but has still not arrived.

So, in brief I have over £160 of stuff bought and paid for, and either not received or received broken, and a further £30 refunded and told to keep the goods! What the hell is going on???

Oh the joys of buying online, still prefer to go to a shop if I can.
Not much chance of that these days though, I know.
