Most CO2 seems to be a by product of the fertiliser industry.

Bags for life could apply to the flimsy one use bags as they don't break down "forever" so yes, those are being discontinued in a lot of our stores. But if they are talking about the heavy ones with scrim reinforcement, I think it is stupid to eliminate them.

I do run them in the clothes washer with soap and bleach every fortnight or so. Perhaps not environmentally friendly but I'd rather be safe than sick !

There are four Tesco supermarkets in an around Inverness and I don't like shopping there either. I have no choice as they have the best selection of 'Free From' supplies. I'd prefer to shop in Sainsbury's but the nearest one is 40 miles away. Morrison's here is a nightmare to access and the only Asda is the east side of Inverness and I live 12 miles from the west side of it. There's also a number of Aldi and Lidl and one Coop, but they aren't big enough to provide me with what I need. Yes, I could visit the various supermarkets but it would probably take me all day with the fight through city traffic.

I don't use self checkouts because they go haywire when I do.

Edit: My bags for life from Tesco are now 21 years old so they've served me well. :)

Had a 25kg parcel delivery today and the driver wasn't happy that it took only 1 minute 10 seconds to deliver, he didn't even carry it from the van, he want me to be quicker next time :heehee:
The 1 minute 10 seconds was from when he stop the van to pulling away again :yahoo:Time on the cctv

I know they seem bad but my experience when I worked was that they had so many drops to do each day it was a nightmare for them.
Traffic was always a problem and they are being tracked all the time .

              Not a job I would want.

Yep, my SAD has definitely started to affect my cognitive functioning this week! :frown: The other day I nearly put my arm into one of my trouser legs instead of my jacket sleeve, and tonight I've preheated the bottom oven and put my scampi in the top one for 15 mins! :roflol:

Absolutely, as a youngster i tried parcel delivery. First day they gave me 50 drops. I was busy but managed to deliver them all.
Second day they gave me 70 drops, and i showed one of the old hands. He smiled and said, Always bring a dozen back to base undelivered because the more you do, the more they'll give you. I soon learnt and soon left.
These days i believe they get paid per parcel so it's crucial for the poor devil's to get most of the load off.

The couriers that come in our yard are either paid weekly or paid per parcel. The ones that get paid per parcel tend to be all self employed, which they have to finance their own van. They often ask my lads to do the odd week here and there for £450-500 when they have a holiday. No one has ever took them up on the offer. The depots are over an hours drive away from us, so it would be very long hours, they normally do 60 hours anyways and they are based nearer the depots.

I don't know how delivery people are paid round our way but it can't be as intense as mentioned above otherwise nobody would do our area.

We are on a road two miles long with a maximum of twenty properties. Each house is set back about 100ft from the road and about half have electronic gates (I think only two of us don't have any gates at all :noidea:) and they have to buzz for entry. So a delivery can easily take five minutes.

Added to that, recently, they never know whether our road is open or closed as planned roadworks get posted, closed signs put up, and the workmen never turn up!

Currently we have a sign at one end say the road is closed from 8/11 for three days but at the other end of the road it says it's closed from 10/11 . I don't know whether they errors are because each end of the road is in a different county :rolleyespink:. There are no turnings in the two miles so people still drive down it trying to see whether it's open or not. Even we have to drive along the road to check whether its closed or not.

Yesterday they put up an advance notice of closure on a road running off the end of our road starting 26/9/21. I wonder whether the person who makes these signs up doesn't like his job!

Hospital and GP IT systems - why on earth can they not interact or communicate?! One can't see the records of the other despite it concerning a particular individual which makes seeing history and treatment much harder!
It's 2021, surely this should be done by now

I seem to remember some years ago it was all going to be on one computer system ,so that any medical services in the NHS could have your records come up instantly.

I remember a few hundred millions being thrown at it before it was decided, oh no this is far too difficult to do, so they scrapped it.

Wasn't there something about you had to give your ok for GP's to share your reconds back a few years? may be 10-20 years ago
