We like our independent local butchers.. Bacon from him is on a different level.
He usually has venison too which is quite a treat.
Anything you want he'll either stock or he'll get it for you.

We're also lucky as we have a small parade of shops very close by with butchers, bakers, vintners as well as a co-op and a couple of beauty places. They're pricey but it's nice having these proper local shops so we try to use them as much as we can

An arranged first Vaccine for my Grandaughter Kat didn't go well.

The school have 2 offsite classrooms some 5 minutes walk away.

No one at the school thought to call the pupils at the 2 classrooms that were away from the main building.

My Daughter Maria phoned the school to be told that the Nurses with the Vaccine were only there for one day. Maria was also told she would have to make her own arrangements to get Kat Vaccinated.

You'd think the teachers would realise the importance of vaccines.. Exasperating

My doctors surgery is taking no part in covid whatsoever, they dont want to know about anything covid related and have not done from the start.
How they manage to take that attitude is a mystery to me, but they have.

Its that time of year again when you get pestered for money.
Second begging E mail arrived today, give us £160 or get persecuted, you only have one week left.

I'm obviously talking about that well known rip off the BBC.

Are there any walk ins? That's what I used because the bookable sites were miles away. I only had to wait a few minutes, it was at a pharmacy nearby.

Like John said, you can try your local walk-in centre. Mrs H had here booster last week and the chemists were doing walk ins. If it is for your booster it must be 6 months from jab #2.

Not come across any, but I did speak to a mate the other day who lives a bit further away and he said he saw how long the queue was out his way and gave up on walk ins.
Dont think I have a walk in center, unless they have changed the bookable one to a walk in, and that is why I cant book?
To be honest I've given up now until after Christmas as parking will be diabolical at the shopping center.

The whole thing seems total chaos compared to the first two jabs which were pretty easy to sort out, I think its just turned into a "free for all".

Just looked up my "local" walk in center, its in Sheerness, Swanley Orpington or Romford .

Ok, I could jump in the car for a day out, but being I live in the county town, it seems a bit strange there isn't something a bit more central.

Might give Sheerness a go, some sea air might do me good, knowing my luck the Montgomery will blow up while I'm there.:roflol:

After 15 attempts online (no walk-ins) and getting a date and time, go to the second screen to book and oh there aren't any!!! tried 119 and after 5mins of waffle finally got through to an operator (working from home I guess) who also couldn't find any local but offered Salisbury, 40 miles away!:heehee: he was just looking at the same site as I was.
Nothing in our home town but eventually got a booking, 12 miles away but went with it and it's done now. What a farce. Do the 'Government' actually know (or care) how many centres have closed???

I'm getting the impression that because everywhere was closed, during the lockdown, finding sites was easy, now the places have gone back to normal and they are not available, I went to a cinema first time.
The other thing is that first time round they were just pumping anything into you, I got Astra, but now I need, probably Pfizer, so that is more difficult to handle and the combinations are getting tricky, depending on what you had first time round.
