My running moan update. I've said before the only way to see a doctor here is to turn up at the surgery and tap on a window. Now at least we are allowed inside and can go to the counter. It was completely empty inside as it has been these last 2 years, apart from 2 receptionists and a little girl having a flu jab. I counted 15 cars in the staff car park, it's not a big building with space for 4 consulting rooms. I just wonder where all the staff are and what they get up to with hardly any patients allowed in. They aren't answering phones or processing web appointments as those systems are still disabled.

Probably making the most of it while the park still exists, before they tear it all out to make way for 'affordable housing' or a new railway that nobody needs.

As I was typing that I got a text from the Surgery saying the only way to get a repeat prescription is via their website, that was the reason I visited in person because the online form doesn't work. If we say that to the receptionist they get all defensive.

Erica made me an appointment a few weeks ago with a doc... first week of December. Earliest they could do but they said to call to see if an earlier appointment opened up (still laughing at that one). Anyway she stopped by to ask as she was passing and they said oh yes no trouble, would the new year be better?!:rolleyespink:

            Get this John.
I called my surgery at about 2.30 and asked for a prescription, they said I'd get a call back.
By 3.30 the doctor rang me, spent 10 minutes talking to me on the phone and sent prescription to chemist, I picked it up at 4.15.
            Now that is service.

Its probably still not easy if you want face to face.

Good evening I had to visit my surgery this morning to ask for a print out of my blood test results and once again nearly had to fight the receptionist to get her to give them to me but I eventually got them after politely informing the receptionist that they were legally my property

I had a similar experience with boots Opticians about 2 weeks ago.

Had a problem with one eye which was bothering me.
Went online and got an appointment that afternoon, when I looked for another time the nearest available one was over a months time.
                    Must have grabbed a cancellation.

An ad that keeps coming on the TV about Sky.
Bloke living on a boat says he dont have a sky dish, "no worries. it comes over your Wi Fi".

Can you get Wi Fi on a boat?

@Victoria - my son's reply. I can't find whether he's approved the bill or not. He has no idea what time of day it is anyway, so one of his puppeteers will probably sign it into law."

                          That's how it should be.

Once we get a face to face or even a telephone appointment the doctors have always been good, they are the same ones we have had for years. Before covid appointments were in short supply but we could ring or book online.

No problem. Until later this month I have mobile broadband which I can get anywhere I can get a mobile phone signal. I also have BT Broadband which is my main source but in the flat I was in, I had no phone line or fibre.

The bill will have to be approved by Congress first before it is signed off or not by Biden. The bill was backed by the Senate, but Congress is split on passing the bill.
