Royal Mail are and have been on strike. They are short staffed and also laying off staff, it's a company in melt down. Their prices are much higher too which doesn't help them.

I tend to sympathise with them, they usually have God knows how many drops to make each day, the companies are often the problem, expecting too much from them each day.
When I worked we had lots of different ones delivering to us and often they would have to deliver some of the day before parcels before doing the present day where they had run out of time the day before due to traffic.

One particular courier delivers our parcels to next door, which doesn't have a number just a name. It is confusing as the numbers run in order until the neighbour's house was built on a vacant plot. Our neighbour never checks their front door as they only use the garage to come in and out. Often parcels go missing for days.

Why is it that all the places I go to for help on doing things on the Interweb thing come up with images which look nothing like the ones which appear on my screen?

First question from Starmer, not about policies, no, just another go about a minister who has been forced to resign.
Starmer you are supposed to be the opposition, not a preacher .

Last couple of years (more?) has been nothing but this both in UK and US. Finger pointing and cat calls doing nothing for governing or leadership.

Drivers who make up their own rules and etiquette on the road is my latest moan.

          Some examples:

Flashing main beam at night presumably as thanks for letting them pass. Great, I let you pass, you thank me by ruining my night vision for a few seconds.

A vehicle behind me/ oncoming flashing to let someone in/out. Great, very courteous, I just hope the intended recipient driver saw me as well as them.

Drivers that don't bother to indicate their intention to leave a busy roundabout that I'm waiting to join. Great, now I will just sit here for ages, holding more traffic up, while I wait for the next gap, having missed the one you've just left because I had no idea you were coming off.

Watching BBC Parliament channel now - I'm considering sending an e-mail to Sir Keir - asking him to say something positive for a change. He's all doom and gloom.

Being in opposition is easy, you just complain about everything and everyone. He's going to have a ruddy great shock after the next general election as it's currently his for the taking and I doubt he has the first concept of running a country.

Don't get me going on headlights, most on modern cars seem to be set wrong, even on dip they bounce up and down as they are coming towards you.
They also look blue when seen from certain angles, often see a blue flash in my mirror and when I look, thinking its an emergency vehicle it's often just a bus behind me going over a speed hump.

I really get fed up with them keep saying what should happen and then not telling us how they would achieve it.
The way things are we don't actually need to be told what should happen, ask any one in the street and they will tell you .
What we need from an opposition is how they will improve things.

And I think it's going to take more than a windfall tax on multinational companies, that just move their money abroad, which seems to be their only cash cow.

I think it should be legal to shoot drivers who don't signal. A good cull would do our roads a lot of good.

You should never take notice of a signal, of another driver, regarding entering a roundabout, it does warn the person behind but if you enter a roundabout on the fact that the oncoming car is signally left, and they dont go left, you're the one at fault.

I agree. But if they're slowing down, or their positioning or a signal gives you a clue, then you can be ready as soon as you're sure. My bugbear is when they look like they're coming past then right at the last second suddenly swing left and come off.

Yeah, to be honest its often just something that you get used to and you tend to know by the position in the road which way they are going.
Still been caught out on the odd occasion though and had to slam the anchors on at the last second.
If I see the signal go on I tend to accept it more than if I didn't catch it being turned on.
