Bonfires, my allotment doesn't really have any rules now as although council land its run by a charity and they have never asked me for rent and they even put a 6ft fence around my bit, which was fine by me.
They said as I was there before them they didn't want to interfere with me.

But when it was run by the allotment association the ruling was something similar to no bonfires between end of March and beginning of October.
But as I was the only one on the site it didn't really matter much.

My neighbour opposite lit a bonfire during the summer, he had waited till the wind was blowing my way. I had just washed the car so wasn't best pleased. I explained to him in my best anglo saxon what I thought. He put the fire out.

Bought curtains and curtain rail from Dunelm. DHL have failed utterly to deliver the rail. Dunelm say it takes 72 hours for them to get a response from DHL. Won't ever buy from them again.

Blame DHL, I am. I ordered a plant from Germany on 25 November. They sent it DHL. It sat in a German DHL warehouse till the 30th when it was delivered to Portugal ... where it has sat in a DHL Warehouse ever since. Latest delivery date was yesterday. Amazon have said now 7-9 delivery. If not received by then get full refund, 35.98 Euros ... but I want the plant!!!

I had my first contact in years with a GP yesterday but still only by phone. I had few things to go through and she was very professional which was nice but freely admitted the system was broken and ran through the rigmarole of hoops I'll have to jump through to get anywhere slowly.

I think it's time all political parties get stuck in and agree a fix. No matter who's in power the plan must be worked, a single plan to stop the backlogs, IT problems, retain staff etc. Every new government, even assuming the health secretary stays in post, has a change in direction and priorities. Nothing ever gets fixed just a constant dribble of restarts

The problem with our system goes back to my earliest memories of politics.
They are only looking forward to the next election, knowing most of the time they only have to worry about 5 yrs at the most, if they then get re elected its mostly a shock and then think they have a job for life.

The times one government has started a project or reform only to get them scrapped by the new incoming government is ridiculous, mostly after billions has been spent.
