I guess they haven't made a very good job of it then?
"Not one English waterway, including rivers, lakes, estuaries and coastal waters is in good ecological and chemical health at present, with pollution from water treatment plants and agriculture the key sources of the damage."

Sorry this seemingly weird post was in reference to @Victoria 's. When I originally posted I could see any of the above posts :dunno:

I think it was industrial pollution that they mostly cleaned up years ago, but I guess with more houses and rising population the sewage and agricultural pollution has now become the biggest problem.
I can remember back in the 70s when I worked in a building along side the Medway it was nothing to see the rainbow patterns on top of the water at certain times, you rarely see that now which make you tend to think its cleaner.

That's one way of looking at it, this is another...:) 'Until Brexit the UK government was signed up to the water framework directive, which required countries to make sure all their waters achieved “good” chemical and ecological status by 2027 at the latest. The UK government later reduced the target to 75% of waterways reaching the single test of good ecological status by 2027 at the latest. The target for the majority of waterways to achieve good status in both chemical and ecological tests has now been pushed back to 2063, according to the documents.'

I dont think you will ever clean up the rivers, I'm not sure what cleanliness they are aiming at, but all the time farmers are dumping tons of nitrogen onto fields to produce more and more per acre to feed more and more people per acre, the pollution will continue.

As to sewage, I've always said the death of mankind, (not sure where the "kind" bit comes in), will not be climate change or any of that stuff, we will just totally suffocate under our own by products.
When the SH** literally hits the fan.;)

As for water companies, there are people that have had no water for a week or more, and they blame the cold weather.
Yeah like we have never had cold weather before.:roflol:

Its like dam busters meets fools and horses.

I liked Robert Shaw's character. The way he was relaxed and calm as they were waiting for the chain effect to take place.

I don't have a moan today. Well, maybe yes because I could use a bigger stomach - the inside one. There are so many goodies here that need to be eaten.

And I accidently broke a couple of cookies. Such a shame because all of the calories leak out when that happens :heehee:

                    Morrisons have done it again.
I put an oline order in last night to be delivered tomorrow, Wednesday.

I've received an e mail saying I cant add to the order, followed by another e mail saying I can get £8 off of my next order as long as its a spend of £80 and before the 31st December.

They just aren't worth bothering with, I've uninstalled the app but I'm still getting lame duck offers via e mail now.

I use Tesco. You can amend your order up until 23:46 the night before your delivery.

                          You can with Morrisons, usually.
For some reason they have knocked 24hrs off the time allowed to amend it, be that because of the Christmas period or because they have so many cracking offers,:roflol: (I dont think), I dont know.
