Since we've been here we've never had less than five pairs but they nest in different parts of the garden. They do squabble a bit in the garden but never around the feeding area. They seem to take it in turns there.

It's surprising how different they actually look from each other. Tall thin ones, short fat ones (none with hairy legs :heehee:) and slightly different markings and colours. They're easy to tell the difference because they are always close by when I'm working out there.

The other ones that I can tell the difference between are the three crows. They've been here almost fifteen years and have slightly different colours and one has had a feather sticking out for over ten years, one has a light brown stripe and the other doesn't have anything to distinguish it apart from not looking like the others - but they know the difference :roflol:. They are always together. They chase off other crows and squabble with the magpies.

I forgot to add pheasants to the list. They are here from about 5 a.m. until 10 a.m. and then pop in occasionally during the day. The females are always here earlier than the males!

Bin men didn't collect our recycling yesterday. It's in plastic bags which is not the best sort of thing in the countryside where quite a lot of wildlife like to examine it.

I phoned the council and they said that the binmen 'forgot' to do our road - it's only two miles long! I think 'wanted to get home early' would be a better way to describe it. :rolleyespink: They are contractors and are being told to do it today. Not a very efficient way as the next nearest collection, if they were going to fit it in with that, is eight miles away.

            Are you out of contract?
Data shows, Virgin Media are known to increase out of contract customers more than any other broadband providers.

I would, sign up to a new cheaper contract or go with a different provider.

I'm on 30 day rolling contracts - so can get out at any time. The 11.7% increase is standard for all customers - it's on their website - RPI + 3.9% - unless you have a phone/sim bundle.

I've looked at Virgin new customer prices - but they are a pound or so cheaper per month - so not worth the effort of changing.

Need to be choosy as I get good reliable signal with Virgin - not so sure about the other providers.

I'm interested to see how my car insurance changes in March - as they can't charge me more than a new customer now.

You confused me giving the thumbs up so wasn't sure if it was minus 11,7$ or dash 11.7%.

Parking tickets. I know it’s probably my own fault. Most moans usually are and can be tracked back to something you should have done different.

So you get into the car park, find the space, faff about reversing, squeeze out of the sardine-sized gap you’ve left yourself to the next car door, and trudge the weary path to the machine. There’s always a queue, it’s usually raining, it’s never a qwerty keypad, it’s long past the point of fretting about Covid on the keys you’re touching. But out pops the ticket, and with a spring in your step it’s back to the car and make like a sardine to place the ticket on the dashboard, in clear view.

And it’s off to town, which takes less each time, because there’s less town each time. And it’s back to the car and the sardine squeeze, and let’s get the blank out of here, and you’re just exiting the car park onto the street, when the ticket slides along the dashboard. Damn, it’s slid over to the passenger side, it’s reflection on the windscreen an annoying distraction, it’s nestled into the corner, ungettable unless you unbelt and stretch over, which you can’t cos you’re driving. You can get lucky at a roundabout and it slides back into reach, or get time at the lights to stretch over. And then you can exact revenge on the slippery slip of paper in the crushing manner you usually do and add it to the growing pile of squished slips in the car.

It was so much better years ago, tickets were peel-backed, the sticky back was great for stickyticking it on the drivers door window, it was the obvious of bleedin’ obvious when you got back to the car, you could squish it at your own leisure, it made life so much easier. The halcyon days of the stickyback, sadly no more.

Oh yeah, Ant ‘n Dec ‘n Scawful…the horsetail of the TV schedules. Nuff said, you can’t get rid of them, always muted or switched to the Dulux channel.

I don't have that problem. I'm too stingy to pay for parking! :old: :heehee:

Most places I go shopping we don't need to pay and display but there is the occasional car park where we get the first 20 minutes free but have to display a ticket from the machine. For the last 20-30 years the cars I have had all had a little springloaded plastic clip on the windscreen for tickets. After a few years the tickets curl up in the sun :loll:

I've just been looking at gym membership fees. £36 a month - is this a joke?

I may as well purchase the kit and set it up in the workshop.
