LATEST MOAN FROM YOU AND ME - 2022

Some one has asked me to clean up the mess on the road outside our house as i usally do but for our benifit as dust is a problem when fast vehicles go through, so i said to person that they should go and see the persons that make the mess to clean it up, but i have quest's coming, well they will have to drive through the same mess as i do it is a country lane, but you're allways cleaning up the road, yes i do as said for our benifit i'll come a help you clean it up but i'm not doing it by myself the person didn't want to do it!!!! so it's still a mess but i know that i will be cleaning it up in a few days time as the dust will be so bad that it covers the house and fills up the gutters and if the wind is right we get the dust blowing over the house a landing on the patio where we sit

Well the thieves will nick anything round our way, a bus shelter was stolen the other night.

On a lighter note, does anyone want to buy some scrap metal and perspex, would make an ideal storage or potting shed for the garden, asking for a friend.

 

Love it! How much do you think your “friend” wants for the bus shelter, oops sorry meant to say potting shed?

 

Just rang my GP surgery, as eConsult website has been non-functuional for the past two weeks, to discover that due to staff absences they are running emergency only services at the moment.
Good news I was only number 8 in the queue and was done and dusted in 10 minutes.
Pointed out eConsult wasn't working response was "oh", however now have a phone appointment next Monday after 1600 hrs.

 

Contrast the GP with the garage I dealt with the other week; rang up to book service and MOT; straight to polite receptionist; service dept was not available; so receptionist said "I'll get them to ring you in a few minutes"; phone went five minutes later "I understand you want to book a service sir" done and dusted.

 

I beginning to wonder what excuses companies or doc surgeries will be using once the covid thing has fizzled out entirely.
It's become the no1 way of excusing a rubbish service.

The service from my docs surgery was diabolical before covid, but now its the reason its diabolical.

 

Our dentists here aren't much better. I had an appointment cancelled for the third time yesterday. I've been waiting for three teeth to be removed since the beginning of November. I was given an emergency appointment towards the end of May because they are now giving me bother. Otherwise I would have had to wait until August.

 

Supermarkets have had to ration sunflower oil. Under 'normal' circumstances - there would be plenty of sunflower oil on the shelves. But - because there is a shortage - people are buying it up when they would not normally do so.

Business as usual - people being selfish.

 

You can blame the media, they start the ball rolling every time.
If some thing is not selling well just suggest on the TV or Facebook that there is a shortage and you will sell out in days.

 

Dear God! Four days with toothache is too long, let alone four weeks Isn't there an A&E nearby?

 

You wouldn't believe how long I've waited @noisette47 due to the Covid lockdown. My dental surgery (NHS) had completely closed down with no way of contact for at least six months. I had problems at the start of 2020 and eventually in March 2021 I was given a set of five appointments starting at the beginning of last September. One of those appointments was to deal with a crown that had come out 18 months earlier and because of the wait the remains of that tooth now needs to be removed, not re-crowned. The other appointments were/are in preparation for the teeth to be removed - that should have been early November last year. The pain isn't too bad, but that's just as well as I can't take painkillers or anti-inflammatories.

Yes, there's an A&E but no chance of getting dental treatment there.

 

Judging by the types of cars dentists appear to drive I doubt many need to work full time after the first few years.
Doctors appear to similar they can get by well enough on a three day week.

 

Following on from my previous grumble I've just had a chat with my GP, who was prompt in ringing (never a good sign). Apparently if you have a worrying result for a test the system doesn't flag this up when the data is reported; it relies on GP review of data and then they refer you to the hospital. Currently due to staff shortages, GP and other, this process is weeks behind; so not reviewed unless patient rings in to ask about results.
Apparently my GP didn't refer me to hospital in January as I thought, nor was I referred when a test came back 25% off from where it was last time. I will now be referred some 14 weeks later than I should have been.
