Turns out that they are turning people off and low pressure all over the area and it was left by the water company. Apparently I signed up as an endangered species some while ago and at times like this they have to deliver, but all the plebs have to go and get it themselves from a water station at the leisure centre.
As it happens we haven't been turned off yet but people real close have for days.
We even have a bridge on a main road that has been damaged by water running down the and they reckon the road will be shut until January. :yikes:

Im not sure if it's the same in Finland but where you end up pretty much depends on how much money you have.
They keep building fancy retirement villages around here, a local one to me is set in a 500 acre local park.

Would suit me fine, could i sell my house and get a one room apartment there, no way, far to expensive.
The yearly maintenance that you are required to pay would pretty much wipe out my private pension on it's own.

I guess you are on the 'Priority Service' as are we. :noidea: We were put on it with the water, gas and electric when we had a 'Safety' inspection by the Fire Service. They even put in new smoke alarms for us. This was all done by the inspector as he was going round our house and asking us questions. Apparently he had put it all into his phone App. and sent it off before telling us. :rolleyespink: He must have felt I was too :old:

Thanks folks for your very kind words. Fingers crossed the oldies will get through this with boosted immunity for the winter.

Hopefully the renewal of poles and cables will make a difference in the future, one of the joys of living in the countryside is over head electricity cables.

We had 37 cuts last year with about three quarters of them being just micro cuts. The trouble with the micro cuts is that it takes the internet down for about 30 minutes and I also have to reset time clocks. :dunno:

A lorry driver who ploughed into the back of stationary cars on the motorway at 58 mph, killing three people and a family dog, while trawling through dating sites gets sentenced to eight years and ten months.
Today, a lorry driver who twice reversed his artic into his girlfriend's house causing damage to property but no injury gets ten years. It appears that damage to property is considered a more severe crime than taking lives.

Come to think of it we have had a few micro power cuts recently, usually overnight. We only have one clock on the oven that needs resetting the rest have battery back up or resynch when the internet returns. For some reason a power cut triggers our kitchen extractor fan, it has touch sensitive buttons which always get confused when power returns. The landline phone pings when power returns which is annoying at 3am.

I presume that the first was considered an accident even though he was doing wrong the intention was not to cause injury.
In the second case it was totally deliberate and the intention was to cause injury or death.

I don't think the 10 years was too harsh. I feel the other sentence was too light.
