Only where it's essential like in some places such as in town centres where there's lots of people traffic and traffic lights etc. It's too slow and unnecessary on most through roads.

I saw an Amazon Prime delivery man holding his phone yesterday while driving. It's a very common thing I think.

Often I blame the company these van drivers work for, they are on very tight schedules and are not supplied with the relevant equipment.
They are being tracked all the time and if they stop to sort out satnavs, and other things they have to do, the company want to know why, and that's not even considering what the traffic is like these days, or should I say, state of the road network.

And that's another thing the Welsh government in their 'wisdom' have done - stopped all road building projects ... so now there are areas of congestion which will remain congested, causing more pollution and danger to pedestrians - the very things they're trying to avoid with their 20 mph speed restriction.

20mph is part of the big plan to get people to stop driving, they still want you to buy a new car, tax it, pay insurance but they dont want you to use it.
With the push to go electric eventually it wont even mean they will be losing fuel duty.

20 mph will increase congestion and is designed to do so.

They wont build any new roads around here, they just throw money at altering junctions that achieves nothing, anyway they dont maintain the ones we do have so more roads would just mean more potholes.

It might soon be the case that using the car is more expensive than buying it!

Noticed on the local news last night that towns around here are already adopting the 20mph limit.
Faversham has already done it apparently along with other authorities expanding the scheme .

They are already painting the signs black in protest.

I think it's all right through town centres where there's a lot of traffic, junctions and people walking about everywhere, but not on 3 or 4-mile stretches of roads where there have not been any accidents.

If it's anything similar to here, these speed limit reductions could be down to sloppy pedestrians. Yes, I know, there are demon drivers out there but I have noticed more and more, pedestrians who do not even slow down at stop signs and just saunter through the intersection while looking at their phones. Also, at the plazas here, the pedestrians just stroll across the lanes, and lots of times at 45 degrees, crossing in front of cars that were already in motion before their foot left the kerb.

I always stop, look and then cross if it is safe. I was brought up that way so this insane disrespect of a car's destructive power totally mystifies me!

After Beryl (late partner) became disabled and had to use a wheelchair, I used to take her out in it, and there was always some idiot who crashed into us while playing with their phone.
In the end I got fed up with them and I'd say loudly "Wake up you stupid zombie !!!!" or something like that.
Sometimes they'd say "sorry" and I would reply "No you're not ! Wake up !!"
So when such people have an accident I have no sympathy for them, it's their own fault.

I think it's not only pedestrians but some drivers are just as bad opening car doors to get in after first looking up and seeing you coming.
I think it's just the way people are these days inconsiderate.

Well I wouldn't need to go to Wales for a Potholing adventure, there are many Pot Holes here where KCC can't repair them.
There were two Sink Holes very near my house..........so if you don't hear from me you will know what happe.............................
