I sympathise with people who don't have a house to live in but Starmer will not get my vote until he tells us where he will be building 1.5 million houses.

 

They are all just telling us what they think we want to hear, but I'm not sure if that one is a vote winner or loser, unless house prices fall, and interest rates, there will just be 1.5million empty houses kicking around.
And nobody with a house votes for house prices to drop.

Lots of what's wrong, lots of what they will do but very little of how.

 

We are in the same spot as far as housing. Last year saw a record 1 million immigrants arrive here and that number does not include foreigners who are here as "students" +900,000 and the massive crowd of illegal/undocumented border crossers, +500,000. Since our country is approximately 40 million, that is a large percentage- approximately 15% increase, of people to try to absorb, let alone house.

Unfortunately many of these migrants are under the impression that if they come to Canada, there is a house waiting for them and no need to work for anything.

We don't have the jobs and we don't have the housing and proposed building sites are met with the lefty nimby's protests. The very same people who insisted on high immigration even in these inflationary times don't want the new housing in their area or what they call the "greenbelt". Some of that "greenbelt" already has towns, highways, manufacturing, etc, withing their borders.

Our leader, Boy Blunder, is a trust fund baby and doesn't know what hardship or hard work are so he keeps pushing the "green" agenda including a punishing carbon tax and set the deadline for electric vehicles being the only transport by 2035. Instead he should be concentrating on fiscal issues.

And because we have the Russians and the Chinese coming over the north pole to push their way in, building up our military to defend this border should have been a priority and not get the cuts that are happening.

We Canadians are ashamed of the Boy who is promoting Canada as the land of milquetoasts and ripe for invasion. Either through buying us or cowing us using the dialogue of the woke.

Its pretty much the same for all developed countries, mass uncontrolled immigration will be our downfall, instead of building up the 3rd world they are all wanting to come and live with us.

 

IF Starmer does get in he'll change nothing and IMHO make matters even worse..I'm dreading it if he does get in because all we're going to get is 'the blame game' .13 years of austerity I'm sick of hearing it..Thanks to labour who left nothing left in the kitty.
