There is water running down a well known hill around my way, its been running down the hill for weeks and they have painted it blue now so that you can see where its coming from.:roflol:

Same process as painting white lines around potholes, we know its there so for gods sake stop reporting it.;)

@Sirius that silly man thinks people are being paid wages to drink gallons of water? Crazy!

I've just topped up my water butts with the hose, the ban comes in tomorrow, looking at next weeks weather, they can poke their hosepipe ban where the sun dont shine.

The strange thing is they say that there are having problems processing "drinking water", but nobody drinks the stuff these days, everyone seems to think its unfit and spend pounds on plastic bottles full of the stuff.
Looking back on old pictures from 1976 they show people filling buckets from tankers at the ends of the streets, nowdays the water companies supply stupid plastic 2 ltr bottles of the stuff at god knows how much expense.
There was even a nursery owner on the news watering his stock, for days, with 2ltr bottles of water, its crazy, they cant keep up with supply and the contingency plans are pretty useless.

I agree but they presumably pass it off to a 3rd party as filling a water bowser is too difficult so we end up with thousands of plastic bottles coz it stores well

My Daughter has been called for Jury Service, she is on benefits and they will only pay for the Train fare, not for a Taxi. The Court House is a good 35 mins walk from the station.

Reducing speed will not only save lives, but will help build stronger, safer communities, Deputy Climate Change Minister Lee Waters has said, three months before the introduction of the default 20mph speed limit. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Actual real life studies - where the 20mph limit has been imposed - show that it makes no difference to road safety whatsoever. If you are going to speed - the number on the round sign at the side of the road will be ignored no matter the number is. What a waste of money changing all the road signs.

Everyone said don't do it - but they're still going ahead.

Yes, Canterbury. Maria is not very good at walking long distances, she was told you have to have a serious disability to claim. £12 a day is a bit much but I'm sure her good old Dad will help her.

Thats not right John you shouldn't end up out of pocket to be doing something that you have been press ganged into doing.
How do they suggest you get from the station to the court, there must be lots of people having to do that 35min walk, I dont have a considered disability but a 35min walk for me is about an hour these days.

I would simply write to them, or phone them if time is short, and say that the minimum 35 minute walk is impossible for her. Is there a bus from the station? You would need to know the answer to that before talking about walking.

It was Maria's first day at Court today, she was told you have to have a serious disability to claim for a Taxi. I would turn up late a few times.

If you turn up late and you are on a case you will get done for contempt of court, unless you have a very good reason.
You cant mess with these people they know every trick in the book and a few more.
I think you just need to be honest and say you cant walk that far twice a day and throw the ball back in their court, so to speak.
