This is why all the schools in the County are shut today. It's melting rapidly and will be gone in about half an hour. Snowmageddon is not a word that comes to mind:

Road tax up £30 this year, another tax that the government is increasing at the same time as saying they want to lower taxation.

Discovered that my GP practice is currently taking 10 to 15 working days to authorise prescriptions, despite their website stating a turn around time of 3 working days after receipt of request.
Problem is I discovered this at the pharmacy when I went to pick up prescription.
I run out Monday morning due to the practice of supplying a 28 days supply every month and refusing a repeat until at least day 21 of the 28.
If the meds are as critical as my GP says then this could be my last post, but what do they know.

I've been using online ordering for about 4 yrs now, it seems to work better than the local chemist, although I know you are saying the problem is with the doctors.

When I used the local chemist shop it was always hit and miss if they had received the prescription but with this system I dont get that.

Sounds as if "Going Postal" is the way.
"Going Postal" by Terry Pratchett excellent book.
                        Doesn't solve the current problem.

We both use well.co.uk, is very efficient but wouldn't work if the surgery was as slow as yours Nigel. The extra couple of days in the post sometimes takes it to the wire with us and one medicine has to be signed for so we have to be at home.

Some times the company I use has problems getting the prescription from the doctors.
I tend to be a bit sneaky.
The app has the facility to tell them how many days medication you have left, you just set this amount at less than you actually have, that way you always have more in hand than they know about and prompt you much earlier than otherwise would be.
It's just a case of adjusting the numbers a small amount at a time.

Our surgery is also the dispensary as there is no chemist nearby. Their service got so appalling that we held local public meetings about it - with the press there. It has now improved.

I've just signed up to a new North Wales Police public 'engagement' web site - where we are told about the various acts of skullduggery going on - asked to keep an eye out - and to grass up anyone who has been up to no good.

I've just scanned through the various alerts and non of them tell me where the 'alleged' incident actually took place. Fairly important bit of info. if you want Joe Public to start trawling through dash cam/CCTV footage.
