Thank you! First time I've experienced any sort of lag here, so just wondered if it was only me. :)

Maybe it is the "weight" of all the lovely photos now spring is here and our plants are looking their best. ;)

My moan for the day - am looking for a small garden mirror to lighten a dark, vegetation heavy corner. Lots of the listings say "avoid contact with moisture"! Eh?!? It's going to live outside, for pity's sake. How can you avoid it getting in contact with moisture? And these are not the real cheapo ones.

@ViewAhead I bought a lovely rusty metal Moroccan style frame at a plant and gardens fair about 25 years ago. I then went to a local glass and mirror store and had them cut me some ordinary mirror glass for the centre. I then hung it outside on a north facing brick wall between our back door and the French doors that opened onto our terrace so it would catch and reflect the sunsets on late summer evenings.

It has withstood -32C to+39C and high winds, hailstones, rain and snow.

I think a bit of foxing might add to the charm

I was urged by someone on here to NOT put a mirror in my garden. Apparently the small birds tend to fly into them and knock themselves out. I'm not saying you shouldn't. Just relaying what I was told, for consideration.

But it probably matters little as they will fly into glass in any case. Fortunately, other than a Pidgeon last year I've not had any fatalities, but have had numerous crash into the windows. Don't know if it is relevant (soap in their eyes:)), but most when they leave the birdbath...

For yrs I've held off for precisely this reason, but I think where I am planning for it to go it should not be a problem. The pigeons regularly fly smack into my patio doors, but none has ever expired immediately after impact.

Yes I've experienced a sort of freezing, I thought it was my broadband.

Edited to say it's running fine now.

I am aware, as an aside, that some networks (Virgin and Sky being two in particular that I have been made aware of) have had issues with some of their hardware as a result of the solar storm last Friday; I have a friend who runs an IT company, relatively small outfit, and he had a call out over the weekend because of it - indeed, he was the one that told me, whilst I was moaning about my broadband being duff on Sunday....
