Maybe the message was "I can afford to ruin this smart, very expensive suit". :gaah:

Just to dodge back on the cyclist theme, we get lots of illegal motor bikes around here, kids openly going up and down the street and ripping up playing fields, the police do zero, they even rip up the fields within earshot of the Kent Police Headquarters.

So I hardly think the police would be enforcing cyclist registration or insurance.

But go 1mph over the speed limit and your not going to get away with less than £100.

In Belgium, every persosn has to have 3rd party insurance for any damage they or their action may inflict on another. We had to have it for Possum from the day she started pre-maternelle at 30 months. In France, it is included in our house insurance.

Why does milk go off 3 days before it's use by date?

Mine doesn't @Jiffy - I drink too much of it for it to get a chance!
You can freeze it sometimes. I only use the red, skimmed stuff [white water as my daughters call it] which doesn't work though. I think it has to be full fat, or even semi skimmed, but I'm not sure.
I'm just going to say a last comment about the cyclist scenarios. I'd like them to show me the same courtesy that they expect from drivers, when I'm walking. Is that really so difficult? On roads with no pavement, they roar past so close I could touch them without having to try very hard.
We all know there are crap drivers - I see them every day, but there just seems to be a total lack of consideration everywhere nowadays. If I'm not being forced off pavements by the lycra clad runners, or thoughtless dog owners with their 20 foot leads and staring at phones, then it's cyclists -who shouldn't be there to start with. Not funny.

Mine doesn't, I get it from the supermarket, when I had it delivered it only lasted a day or two, I put it down to the delivery truck not being refrigerated and the milk was delivered in the early hours of the morning.
By the time I put it in my fridge it had been un refrigerated for hours.

Ours lasts OK and it's delivered by tesco so we can't choose the longest date. They do have refrigerated vans which makes a difference. It's the skimmed stuff so there is no cream to go off. Semi skimmed and full fat last until the use by if ever we get some.

Could be unrefridgerated as pete says @Jiffy , if it is delivered by a milkman.

Down here we have a self referral physiotherapy "service" I rang yesterday and was advised that the first part was a video consultation. Their system only works on certain browsers Safari and Chrome neither of which I use, first face to face appointment available was mid September unless I installed the specified browser. Further discussion revealed it might work on Edge would I please test it and get back. It did; I then learnt that I had no say in the appointment day or time I could only accept or decline and the earliest date was mid June.
This is for a painful stiff knee that has begun locking up, how they will examine this or even see it is anybody's guess. If I could get the knee anywhere near the camera I wouldn't have physio in the first place.

Why on mainline trains are so many seats booked and then unoccupied.

That's what we call here - 'a right scunner' @NigelJ . You'd think they could make it a bit easier to get an appt, but some areas seem to be far more difficult than others. At least mid June isn't too far away...
Hope you can get the help though. I know only too well how sore knees can be.

We have similar here, only it's a telephone appointment with a physio to begin with. That went badly for me as the exercises prescribed by the physio over the phone made my groin sprain develop into a hernia. Eventually I saw a gp face to face and got it diagnosed properly. I went private because nhs waiting lists were so long I was unable to do any heavy jobs like mowing, digging or planting. The consultant said the exercises I did were the worst thing to do.

Hope it works for you @NigelJ

When I used to travel alot by train. My seat was booked from the station I boarded, to the station I left the train. The ticket was slotted in the top of the seat at the start of the trains journey and left there for the whole journey. If you looked at the ticket you could see the stations that the seat was reserved between.
I don't know if it's the same now as this was about 30 years ago.
