Tshk.... everyone knows it was the nasty brunette whose name starts with a "K" who shot the Swedish guy. It was his brother Bobby who died in a dream and returned nude taking a shower.

@NigelJ , especially as a scientist I do wish you would stick to facts! :nonofinger:

And by the way, what an earth has been going on whilst I have been working? Guns and stuff! :yikes:

... Wordstar 1978... Not known to me until a few years later, but became standard to cut out laborious code line editing ... Our memories let us down... what was the excel prequal ??? Visicalc, Lotus 1-2-3?

Lotus 1 2 3 early 80s for me on an IBM PC. Never used Apple myself, which had the earlier Visicalc.

Think Apples were horrendously expensive compared to the first PC

Yes, @DiggersJo , I used Lotus 1 2 3 :old: Makes me laugh at how unsophisticated it was. B25 =B1+B2+B3 and on and on! And no mouse! . With excel and the rest, I get irritated when they keep changing the layout with new versions. It's been umpty years of having to keep relearning with all the the Office suite. And sometimes it seems totally pointless because no big time savers are added.

@Selleri Blame Terry Wogan for confusing me. I couldn't stand the show. The most interesting thing was that JR's mother was the Broadway star Mary Martin.

And the JR actor (Larry Hagman?) played the stupid US major who was killed in The Eagle Has Landed.

More daft JR trivia - Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) was Mrs Robinson’s leg stand-in for the stocking scene in The Graduate.

Have you ever accepted an aphorism without really thinking about it?
You'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar - true
You'll catch more flies with sh*t than sugar - truer
