My one cost 2k DM (Deutsch Mark) back then, but was worth the money. I didn't have a coloured monitor but B&W, but loved it.

Back then, I had to attend a statistic course at the university and we had to used this system: A directory line was not allowed to be longer than 8 characters including :>

I preferred this desktop below. My first OS was 6.0.

However, I gave up Mac when OSX was released. Too much for a change.

Not a moan, but I'm feeling quite sad about the death of Michael Mosley. I am one of the large group of people for whom a single piece of advice from him about a decade ago has been utterly life-changing. I have followed it every single day since without exception and am really grateful to him for the topics he covered and the research he undertook. :)

Barren environments in the heat can be deadly, but it seems unfair to be killed by your holiday choice.

I also thank Michael Mosley for making me make a couple of small changes that gave big results:smile:

Unless he was testing himself I can't think what he thought he was doing, they said at one point it was 45c and he wanders off across barren countryside.

Secretly I bet the locals thought he was nuts.

Michael Mosley will be a great loss, he was probably one of the most influential British people in the field of public health. His Just One Thing podcasts were enjoyable and engaging, and I barely listened to any podcasts at all before he started them.

It is rare that public health experts and doctors who are on TV discussing such controversial topics as weight management manage to leave such a lasting positive impression. Without coming across as at all judgmental.

His advice on things like cooking, cooling and reheating pasta and potatoes has definitely helped me. And his diets work. They're hard, but they work.

Funny how highways come out to look at the road but no faults found!!! so i've reported lots of faults, some get repaired and marked as "fixed" others get marked as "fixed" but nowt has been done, a few weeks back i reported a fault and today they've been out to look at fault, marked up as "repair soon" now when they first came out, 2 persons in a van driving slowly to look at road, so why didn't they notice the faults and reports for repair/maintance etc, if i can see the faults and being it's they job to look at road why did they miss them  or is it we can't be bothered to and just enjoy the ride

Don't they spray some pretty coloured paint around the affected area. That always helps.

There are far too many faults to even begin reporting them on some roads around here, you go on the website and its just masses of reports in one road, its impossible to work out one hole from another. Reporting one hole is a thing of the past.

Regarding Micheal Moseley, I had never heard of him until now.
But then I never do know modern celebrities.

He wasn't a vaccuous celebrity @pete but a trained medic who made it his business to research and communicate health matters and advice that dealt with everyday problems faced by many but, all too often, mishandled or ignored by official General Medical Council and government guidelines and policies.

He and his research and the colleagues on his teams helped an inordinate number of people manage their personal health form diabetes to obesity, sleep disorders to depression and many more. His willingness to be a guinea pig to show the effects and efficacity, or not, of various treatments and interventions gained him many fans and helped people turn their lives around where the GMC failed.
