Is it just me or do you find that as soon as someone puts hi viz clobber on they seem to think its ok to just wander all over the road.
Hanging on the off sides of parked vehicles chatting to someone inside or just generally wandering around behind lorries, it seem to be a passport to committing suicide.

Wales has an assembly, likewise Scotland and N.Ireland, isn't it about time England had something similar.
I know another level of government isn't a great idea but it would be nice to have our own identity instead of getting blamed all the time.

Lots of referrals to Westminster last night from the SNP bloke, but he's actually moaning about England.

It is quite odd that the portion of the country with by far the largest population (over x 10) does not have an assembly. I guess it would pretty much make Westminster redundant, so they are unlikely to introduce it. Again, turkeys and Xmas.

I've tried that substance called splenda and I cant say I like the after taste, threw a large tub of it away a while back.
Its similar to all soft drinks now, since the sugar tax, just full of nasty chemicals and a horrible after taste.
I've always steered clear of the so called diet versions of drinks because they taste pretty disgusting as well.
I only hope no one works out a way of getting yeast to grow with these chemicals otherwise beer and wine will also be off my drinks list as well.:frown:

Westminster is the England equivalent of an assembly.
Several councils are seeking devolution so ultimately we could end up as fractured as the countries used to be with no end of squabbling. It all stems from small groups thinking they're being treated unfairly and wanting their own sandbox.

Surely another level of government means greater expense to the voter, more confusion for all.
Basically, the MSPs are no more than elevated local councillors, and will remain so until Scotland gains independence.
Either they, or Scotland's MPs at Westminster, are an unnecessary expense.
And who is paying for them?

Yeah, but Wales has one and so does N. Ireland, occasionally.

Then they all blame England for not giving them enough money, if we had our own they could them blame Westminster, and England could ask for more money as well.

The local farm used to have an honesty box by the side of the road, where I would buy fresh soft fruit, tomatoes, green beans and other goodies in season. They took the box away during the winter, and there is no sign of it going back. I am very sad about that.

That reminds me that very many years ago we used to put an old wheelbarrow full of apples on our front verge with a sign that said "Help yourself" and almost none of them went. So we put them in paper bags with a sign saying sixpence a bag (I said it was a long time ago :heehee:) and had an honesty box and all bags went and were paid for.
