@pete Make jam? Crumbles? They'll still be fine.

They might make an interesting batch of jam. Or of sauce to spoon over vanilla ice cream. For the latter, you wouldn't need too much sugar. However, you would need a good few jam jars, or Kilner storage jars, that seal well.

How 70s! Best ones I made were lychee wine and Mandarin orange wine. We also made some truly disgusting wines that you couldn't even drink if you were drunk.

I have a cupboard full of wine I made up to 4 yrs ago.
Some of it is alright some not so great, but I only seem to be able to drink one glass and I fall asleep.
For some reason it's not a nice sleep, I usually can't wake up and I don't remember what happened.
Even whisky doesn't have that effect on me.

I've got some jam I made a couple of years ago and some marmalade, just don't get round to using it.
I give it away but I don't think anyone is that interested either, nobody eats jam any more.

Blackberry puree or syrup can be used for sauces on deserts or meat, pie fillings etc,. Figs are disgusting but medicinal if you need help to be regular.
I say this as a fig tree grower but only for foliage - blackberries, not so much.

Me too, @john558. I wondered if it was my BB connection, so I rebooted it, but things are still sluggish.

I don't think too many figs will be a problem this year, the tree is loaded but the squirrels are taking them already just as they soften up.
Blackberries are there, I gave some to a neighbour a couple of years ago and said she could have what she wanted if she came round to pick them, needless to say I never heard any more from her.

Site is fine for me, but I wonder if the recent IT debacle is impacting for some. You would be surprised what goes on in the background when you are online. It could be your device is hitting sites unknown to you that are impacted e.g. tracking sites. This could happen even if you are not on even on windows.

I agree with @DiggersJo - there is still an awful lot going on to undo the mess created by the IT outage last week.

I think we best keep an eye on this and be ready to call the tech guru if it doesn't resolve itself.
