Didn’t I say it here in front of the election that certain areas like finances and foreign policies are always shared between government and opposition, and Labour will claim after the election that a closer look brought to light that’s worse than thought?
Now she claims that there is suddenly a gap of 20 billion.
I tell you right now that after 4 years time of Labour, the cronies will be more and get more, we will pay more for everything and still have more debts than today.

@ViewAhead As a Waspi woman myself I have only had one WFP instead of seven. Wonder if they’ve remembered that we are due some compensation….:what:

Having been responsible for three London bus garages in my not too distant past, I was the guy that those drivers would see if they did that... not the sort of visit they would enjoy in my office, believe me. No engines with the electric ones - just ruddy great fans that run even when the bus is off...

£20bn equates to £600 per working adult in the country. So, if she comes asking for more than circa £60 a month (and that is allowing a further £120 per year for "admin" costs) then they are definitely extracting the urine.

You managed one more than me! :) I hate these constantly shifting goalposts.

What seriously hacks me off is if you are eligible for pension credit, it opens all sorts of doors. Be a few quid over the limit though, and you can't access anything. I agree lots of pensioners don't need the WFP, but the cut off should not be so low, IMV.

I've not yet reached that age at which I am due (or would have been due) the winter fuel allowance. By the time I get there, Reform UK will probably be the ruling party, and Nigel Farage the Prime Minister - unless of course the Labour party change the law, and permit themselves to remain in office for 10 year stints (to increase by one year, each year).

The trouble is that the younger, further left-leaning part of the Labour party (and indeed generally) are under the impression that all pensioners are basically loaded. They've not got a clue and likely won't until they are in their 40's, then they will realise.

I think that's fair enough. We're not rich but we don't really need it.

I dont actually need a lot of things, but every little bit helps.
I dont need heating, but its nice to have.
I dont need a car, but would struggle without it
I dont need to buy nice food, ...................

so take away from the pensioners and give it, and more, to the doctors, who suddenly now seem to have given up thir struggle and want to settle.

Now the GPs are jumping on the bandwagon.

Someone whose income is around 10k needs it more than someone whose income is 20k or 30k or 500k though.
