That is it in a nutshell.

Societies with the lowest gap between the wealthy and poor tend to be the most stable with the best mental health. Our society is now so unbalanced, it has become a tinderbox. And what is done to address this? Pensioners on the breadline have money taken away. Honestly!

When Starmer and Reeves went to Davos in January, I really started to worry. Mingling with the very people who have wrecked the world economy for the majority in the interests of gain for a vanishingly small group is not likely to lead to fairer policy agendas.

Surely the far and middle right are the pawns of the rich and powerful. They are kept in the dark and fed on 'facts' crafted by Murdoch's media , The Daily Mail, Trump, Farage at al

I'd say we are all pawns of the media in a way. What's reported, what's not. How much coverage is given to any incident. Whether the media spews hate or understanding towards perpetrators. Who is allowed a voice, who is not. Siding with minorities. Siding with the wealthy. Aiding and abetting secrecy. Distraction tactics so the spotlight never shines on the causes. Vilifying some groups (the unemployed, those on benefits, etc). And so on ... all beamed into our homes and phones 24/7, relentlessly pushing their version of events.

We live in a country where class and secrecy combine to toxic effect, and the media perpetuates this. Sowing division works very nicely. Boomers against the young, one religion against another, skin colour, gender ... anything except allowing the focus to fall on big WEALTH.

I personally think we need to take a much, much wider view. Of course, there will always be differences of opinion on some things, but for the most part the vast majority of people want exactly the same. The simple fact is that barely any of us, except maybe vocal minorities, are getting what they want/need/expect. We need to ask ourselves why. It is quite convenient for those "elites" to have us all bickering between ourselves, because the whole time we are, we are not scrutinising and exposing what they are up to - most of which is the transfer of vast sums of money.
Do you really believe that the £11.6 BILLION that has been promised for African climate support will get anywhere near the African people? Will it hell as like - it will go through sufficient NGO's for it to be laundered to end up in Swiss bank accounts somewhere.

I have no problem with foreign aid if it gets to those who need it. It doesn't, however. It gets siphoned off by companies from the West purporting to provide services.

By way of example. The boss of Lidl is a very, very rich man. One of the richest in the world. Apparently he was given a large amount of UK aid to build supermarkets in Bulgaria and Romania. Bear in mind, the people there had not asked for this development. Lidl shipped in construction workers, so few locals benefitted from jobs. Lidl does not use local produce, so farmers and small businesses lost their livelihoods, giving Lidl a monopoly in the area. All that was gained for locals was some low paid, zero hrs work in the stores.

Helping the poorest with tax-payers money helps the wealthiest most. There's even a name for it. Philanthrocapitalism.

The same one who puts the lid back on the empty milk bottle and puts it back in the fridge. Is that easier than rinsing it out and putting it in the recycling?

And puts a dirty tea towel in with the clean ones because it's easier that bunging it in the washing machine. And leaves the toilet seat up.

My moan today is a recurring one - BBC licence fee. We don't watch BBC and haven't done so for a very long time, yet to watch other live channels we are forced, by law and threat of imprisonment, that we have to pay for a TV licence. This is all the worse in the light of Mr Edwards entering his guilty plea today, as our licence fee along with everyone else's is contributing to that pervert's salary and pension.

If that were a CEO of a company like Mars or Coke, I could simply vote with my wallet and not fund their perversion - - but the BBC, I am forced to pay. Time that changed - at best, make it a subscription model that you pay for if you want their services, or make it carry advertising.

Training @BB3!! I told mine decades ago that it was unhygenic to flush the loo with the lid up so down it had to go. Didn't take long.

Now, if I could just get him to pour coffee without leaving drips on the counter top, despite there being a tray.............

Newspapers and their proprietors have a lot to answer for but worse still are social media sites which tell lies, invent "news" and stir up mobs too stupid to discern that they are being manipulated and deliberately wound up.

Untrainable, I'm afraid @Obelix-Vendée . I even tried taping a two foot long arrow constructed out of wide brown parcel tape to the wall behind the toilet.
                        Did it work? No.

Chineseium bog seats are the answer - any time I try to pee standing up, it tries to whack my manhood as it chooses to close... supposed to be soft close too, but is nothing of the sort. We had a great Wickes one for a lot of years and since it broke, we've had three similar seats, all equally useless. Maybe Chinese fellas have tiny manhoods.

When we refer to toilet seat are were actually referring to the seat or the lid?

Personally I dont know what was wrong with the ones we had in the school bogs, a normal porcelain bowl with two wooden insets one each side that you couldn't remove.

Lid, narr, who needs a lid, its not like your going to fall down it, is it.

This just popped up as an advert on Facebook (someone must mistakenly think my arse is lined with diamonds...) but it is quite indicative of all that is currently wrong:

                              Devon Road, Hersham

That house is located not far from me, and whilst it is a nice(ish) house, I simply cannot get my head around a three bed semi, in a fairly ordinary street, being almost a million quid.
