Anybody who thinks anything has changed over the past 40 years just needs to watch 'Yes Minister' and 'Yes Prime Minister'.

 

Been to see my old work place, wish i didn't even bother, all the good staff gone fired by text message and all young people in they're place, all messy and when speaking to some people things weren't going like it used to do years ago lots of shouting because things were going wrong, i will not be returning ever again, sad to see things go down hill so fast

 

A bit like going back to see the old family home that you lived in as a child. Never a good idea.

 

Google Maps means you can now do that from the comfort of your own home.

 

And it's still rarely a good idea

 

You can't if your childhood home has been flattened to make way for new builds.

 

I live only about 10 kilometers from my old home and every time I pass it, I thank the gods that I don't live like that any more. Parents, 5 kids, 3 bedrooms, one tiny bath. And it makes me ill to think that we had ONE drinking cup in the bathroom by the sink. I shudder to wonder at how often that cup was changed/cleaned.

No wonder I didn't die from eating whatever I could forage in the woods behind us. My body must have already built up a pretty sturdy immune system!
