They're trying to copy the french. It's effective in France but the supply chain works differently and the general attitude is also 'different'. The Brits will just get peed off with it

My sister also apologised to me @simone_in_wiltshire , many years ago, for not being nice to me growing up. It's how it is and I can't change that. I never stood up for myself as I wasn't able. It's only in recent years that I've accepted that I was 'different', but it was harder back then to say so.

I found my wheel nut key, stuck down the side of one of the seats. If they'd just put it back in the bag it would have been fine! The customer service girl was very helpful and kind, so I gave her a good review. That's another crappy job - dealing with lots of unpleasant, self entitled folk demanding immediate attention. You'll know the type- 'my car is a model ending in an 'I' . That's 'I' for important'....

A very important point to make @fairygirl Whatever the complaint is about, you will rarely be speaking to the person responsible for the problem when you first make contact. Even when you do speak to the 'responsible party' and that may be the manager, civility costs nothing and will generally result in a better outcome.

On the one hand they are ruining our economy chasing net zero, which will have net zero effect globally, but on the other hand likely to ruin the enviroment and wildlife habitat which seems not to matter.
They wont put in the infrastructure required, they will just build build build, infrastructure costs money and developers wont pay for it.

Stop the developers building 4 or 5 bedroom houses as they dont help the people living in tempory accommodation, the ones they keep spouting about as needing a roof over their heads.

Absolutely! The people most in need of decent housing need it to be affordable not huge "executive" properties, and most likely need it to be in accessible locations. I suppose it's cheaper for developers to build on fields than on brownfield sites that might need more in the way of remediation work before it's suitable for building on, and quicker to get the new properties up and sold.

I don't think there is such a thing as affordable housing. It's a nonsense. There's so little thought to put into anything they're doing, they just want to be seen as doing things after doing nothing to date

Affordable housing is rented from councils or housing associations, I agree the people they pretend to be looking after are not likely to be buyers, but that makes it all sound good.

Lets cover the green fields with houses because of all those homeless people.

They also state that the amount of housing to be built will depend on the needs of the area.
House building around here in the last 20 yrs has just brought new people into the area, most local people just cant afford them.

I just have a silly little moan.

Looking in a shop where they happen to sell brushes and combs I saw that they proudly displayed a comb that was 'biodegradable' and cost three pounds. Why would anybody want a comb that was going to biodegrade? Surely you want it to remain as it is so that you can use it for years to come?

Biodegradable doesn't mean it crumbles in your hand in a few weeks time, but only that if you no longer need it, it doesn't harm to the soil.

They found out that these biodegradable compost bags take far longer to decompose than thought.
                      We now use paper bags.

                        Absolutely agree with JennyB.
I'm sure that many town centres that had the 50/60's restructuring are left with many awful places and free space.

All those "dying" town centres they keep going on about. Convert those buildings into flats!

But I want it to last my lifetime and not "it's" lifetime. They are just using the word because they think it is the 'in thing' to say to try and make it more appealing to someone who doesn't think enough about it.

Technically I would guess that my house is biodegradable - eventually. :noidea: Come back in a thousand years. :blue thumb: :heehee:

It's smaller flats, and properties suitable for single folk and young couples that's needed - UK wide, but that doesn't make them 'loadsamoney' so they aren't interested.
Where I grew up, which isn't far from here, it's unrecognisable. Full of large houses all crammed together. They built a new, large, primary school, but within a few years it was massively oversubscribed, and they're still building more and more houses on what was farmland. It's commuterville because of the proximity of the motorway to Glasgow, and also for anyone heading south. They probably think they folk that buy those houses will be sending their kids to private schools, or maybe they think it won't be families living in them. Aye right.
