Starmer backs minister accused of embezzling billions in Bangladesh
Keir Starmer has given his full support to Tulip Siddiq, the Treasury minister, after Bangladesh’s anti-corruption commission accused her and family members of embezzling billions as part of a deal for a nuclear power plant.
Siddiq’s role as economic secretary to the Treasury includes responsibility for tackling financial corruption. She has denied any involvement in the claims.

Has the pension age for MP's and civil servants ever changed??

With all the things going on about things from the past not being right, why hasn't the word "servant" ever be chanaged ?

I've heard them called civil serpents, does that count.
I assume they still get their pension from about 55 onwards.

I may be out of touch but thought civil service pensions were gold plated, unlike the rest of us who have to risk our own money in funds that go up and down (down mostly in my case) their pensions are paid by us tax payers, love the irony. There is no risk and they are very generous pensions.

There is apparently a LOT of Labour MP's that are very, very unhappy with him on this one. They are well aware that it calls into question their own integrity, having stood with the WASPI women and some even being photographed with them, now seen to have lied or deceived people into voting for them. Really bad look.

I have forwarded the video to our MP, I get the impression that she has real sympathy with the cause. Let's hope they all rise up and chuck him out. As long as Ms Reeves isn't the replacement:mute:

Hopefully Reeves shot her ambition to be PM in the foot when she snatched the WFP away from those living on around 12k. A totally unnecessary meanness that shows she is not on the side of ordinary folk and not in touch with their reality.

Peter Mandleson back in a position of huge influence! FGS! :wallbanging: That's surely on a par with Rishi dragging back Cameron. It never works out well.

If they got rid of Starmer I hate to think who would take over, most of these "difficult " decisions are coming from the whole of the front row.

In fact I might add, I think Starmer might be the moderate one of the bunch.

Presumably Mandleson will be based in the US and therefore won't be sitting in the House of Lords and claiming his expenses ? That should help the Black Hole a bit. Oh no, hang on, he will probably need a 2nd home allowance and all that entails won't he.
Actually, he'll fit in quite nicely with Trump, Musk and Farage........ Too Many Frauds......Too Many Fools .......feel free to make up your own acronym.
